i like vampire decks a lot. i made one pretty similar to this however i feel that butcher is bit too expensive to ever make it out in the game and that painful quandry doesnt really fit in too well. i would put in 4x bloodthrone vampire, 1 more bloodghast, take out the butchers and painful quandry.

I play casually every Sunday with a friend and he uses a deck extremely similar to this. It works very well.
I was iffy on the butcher's and the quandary's as well, and in like 20 games I played, I only got the butcher out once. That was against a mono blue control that just kept prolonging everything! But I might try to leave the butcher in (Bring it down to two) and remove the quandaries. The Bloodthrone Vampire idea is an amazing one, especially because I can just sack Bloodghast and get him back!
