OK, like I do with every deck, I'll put any cards that I think might be good into the sidedeck and let you decide.

Just noticed the etched monstrosity. you won't be able to use it. Its color identity is all five colors because of its ability. ruling on color identity is color on abilities count towards the cards colors so in a green black edh you wouldn't be able to use it. I suggest primeval titan in its place though

Thanks, I didn't realize it because I haven't played EDH too much. Tell me if there is anything else.

I'm noy seeing anything else though the lantern is kinda useless since the monstrosity couldn't be used. though golgari guildmage would make a nice addition in its place

The lantern is there because some of the creatures that I want to scavenge cost BBB or GGG and it gets hard to get 3 of the right color early in the game. Does that make sense?

Yeah i just wasn't thinking for a moment. I just don't use scavenge a lot so i didn't think it through about the lantern. Though you may want to add primal bellow for trample. i didn't see many yhat had trample is all.

Ok, totally fine. I'll try primal bellow out and get back to you. :)

Griselbrand is banned in commander. '-'
You should add some infect guys, so you'll have another win con.

Actually its not the "banned" list is more of a overpowered list you should mention running in the deck beforehand and should ask if there's any objections to it. Which most people won't care because its a 1:99 chance. its yhe same as primeval titan which again most people won't care because of the odds. but i do see your point.

Also i believe in the comments on another deck it was mentioned he only plays with family and friends

Man, griselbrand is completely broken in EDH! Even as one of 99. That's why it's banned as a card, not a commander. .-.

I agree its broken horribly but even on the site with the list it states that if your running it make sure no one objects to it and that if there isn't its fine. Its a strange way to say they don't want it played but if no one has a problem with it go for it

I think that I should at least follow EDH rules. Thanks guys. I took it out. :)

Thanks I'll put them into the sidedeck until further notice. :) And I love your deck. I used to have a vorel edh deck, but it "evolved" into a modern deck upon recieving a playset of master biomancers. :)

Vorel is amazing when it comes to counters. I made a standard Voralz jund deck when the innistrad block was still legal. It was real fun to play with.

I might suggest Scourge of Skola Vale + Death's Presence (especially in combination with each other and the scavenge mechanic)!

- Hydra sacs creature. Hydra gets stronger.
- Creature dies. Hydra gets stronger.
- Creature exiles from the graveyard, Hydra gets stronger.

All for one mana cost. Just a quick thought!

Not to mention if corpsejack and/or doubling season is out. Doubling season + Death's presence + Scourge is 4x the saced creature's power I believe? Plus if you scavenge it.

Just realized the "perfect" combo. Scourge of Skola Vale + Vastwood Hydra + Death's Presence + Corpsejack Menace/Primal Vigor/Doubling Season + Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord. Possible massive damage. Though Idk the rulings for how all those "doubling" triggers would play off of each other if there was more than one out.

Yep - doubling does stack...so if something doubles 3 times, it's x8.

However, in response to the comment above, you wouldn't be able to Scavenge the Hydra because its counters would disappear when it entered the graveyard.

I mean like would it be an infinite loop? Say corpsejack triggers then doubling season triggers, would that then trigger corpsejack again? And it wasn't referring to scavenging a hydra, just the creature saced by the hydra's ability.

I'm pretty sure it would not as in a normal sixty card deck as doubling season is triggered when parallel lives would as well you would put all the abilities onto the stack as you see fit. then each would trigger once. so for instance if you had a parallel lives and a doubling season anf put a token into play you manipulate the stack so parallel lives triggers first then parallel lives. the parallel lives puts two in and doubling season triggers making it 4 instead. it would be the same in this situation you've given. you place the abilities a single time.

I use a set up like that in my elven insanity deck with parallel lives.

I didn't think it would, but reading how they worded all of it, I became curious.

Doubling Season - "If an effect would place one or more counters on a permanent you control, it places twice that many of those counters on that permanent instead." Primal Vigor - "If one or more +1/+1 counters would be placed on a creature, twice that many +1/+1 counters are placed on that creature instead." The way I read it, which I assumed wasn't correct, was lets say Doubling triggers 1st then Primal. So Primal would resolve 1st doubling the counters, then Doubling Season would resolve, but since that technically puts more counters on it, it sounds like it should trigger Primal Vigor again? Then infinite loop.

0

It wouldn't though because the original effect putting counters on only triggers once. for a loop it would have to trigger infinitely since it doesn't though each would only go on the stack once. if it went infinitely at least two would bebanned or all three it would only put 8x the counters on though

Phyrexian Dreadnought anyone? You can pay one mana and get twelve counters. Desecration demon might also be something. +1 this deck.

Awesome! I was looking for this card but didn't know what it was called. Thanks a lot! And I considered Desecration demon, but it's not really what this deck is going for because of how easily it can be thwarted by token or sacrifice decks, but I'll sidedeck it. :) Thanks a lot. :)

No problemo man. The only reason I knew about dreadknought was because i had been looking for efficient scavenge sources for a varolz deck that I gave up on. I only have one varolz and extremely limited access to cards unless I want to waste money on a bunch of boosters and fat packs.

Yeah, that also lead me to phyrexian soulgorger and myr superion which are great for this deck. Thanks once again. :)
