Deck Description

My mono-blue devotion deck for standard is displayed here. I would normally have more jaces, but they tend to be pricey and hard to come by.

How to Play

The deck features many ways to start your deck up fast. Turn two is where it starts. Casting tidebinder can tap out small yet significant obstacles, like lotleth trolls, frostburn weird or rakdos cackler. Also, if you get caught off guard by a suddenly threatening creature, you can temporarily get rid of the threat with Rapid hybridization. Judge's familiar also supports you early game. Nightveil is really only for devotion, but stealing cards is still fairly useful, especially when awkwardly playing the same deck. Add in master of waves and thassa and it's endgame before you know it. Now Ravnica Jace is in there for several reasons. Mainly, it helps detering other master of waves tokens from attacking (at least, for devastating damage), and scrying into his -2 is worth it. Also, if you get the chance to pop off his finale, it can win the game for you if you happen to be playing the same deck. And the recently added Memory Adept is great for getting part board stalls, as it will basically only take 3-4 turns before you mill them out.

id sideboard the tidebringer mage and mainboard frostburn wierd she does work with the pump. and tidebringer is limited to green and red. get another nightveil and drop the judges familiar for some negates. ratchet bomb is funny for tokens due to there converted mana cost being zero but i would sideboard that for token decks. you got the removal with the rapids and one ratchet bomb isnt going to do much.

the familiar only counters instant or sorcery cards though making it limited... also check out happyvikinggames.com theyre prices are pretty fair and I think you can find nightveil there

Well, I have yet to wait to see how it holds up against other decks. Thanks for the insight.

I have made some changes (as pointed out by other people) and I think it might work more efficiently now. Thanks

Well, this deck actually works fairly well now. Went 3-1 and got 4th out of 16 people. Although I would try to grab Mind Reaver out of born of the gods when it comes out. It wouldn't do too bad.
