Yes i know its restricted in vintage but im just playing for fun with friends and they dont mind about banned or restricted cards.

In my Sideboard ive added some cards that i might include if i remove 3 demonic tutors.

i would also take out undermine and put in muddle in the mixture.. so you have transmute and then you can search if things don't go as planned

hey thanks Muddle the mixture really does fit well into my deck.

Stifle is the ONE FREAKIN card that I wish I could get a hold of. SO good for torpor decks. I love my red black, but man I would ditch it in a second for this variant.

nice deck. not legacy or modern legal, but cool theme.
i would drop demonic tutor because its totally illegal. drop the beseech the queens, whats brain geyser for? drop that and mana drain, add some brainstorm/ ponder/ fetchland tech and your good to go.
isochron scepter probably isnt very good here either. considering theres only a few things you can stick to it.

i could see a more isochron control build, with the dreadnought as the finisher being cool. but as its set up right now, it seems kinda janky

heres my legacy tempo deck based around stifle/nought combo.

Hey Alleywayjack thanks for your tips yeah i will definitely drop brain geyser:), and beseech the queen. For the rules I usually just play for fun with friends and we don´t really care about which cards are allowed or not so id like to stick with demonic tutor and mana drain. I will also keep Isochron scepter as it has been very effective whilst playing this deck, only thing i might change there is the number of isochron scepter cards i use. But again thank you for your tips cheers Paul

Could someone please explain to me why Dark Confident is good? I've never figured it out xD

I've heard that drawing more cards than your opponent is usually pretty good if you like winning :P

The downside is minimal in a lot of competitive decks since the average converted mana cost in the deck is generally pretty low. Though he gets run a lot more in modern since legacy usually has better options.

Obviously you dont want to throw him in some random casual deck that can accidentally kill itself with a couple poorly timed draws.

which is exactly why you shouldnt be running cyptic command.
its a super duper card by all means, but maybe running something else thats cheaper and can stick on isochron scepter would give you better synergy.

you really want braintstorm and fetch lands.
you own mana drain but you dont have fetch lands?
although polluted deltas are insanely overpriced so i guess i can understand actually. aha!

im really not a fan of the fetch lands cards so ill leave them out, i did own some but sold them all and yes I own 2 mana drain cards not in the best of conditions but who cares :). But yeah I should replace cryptic command with some other cheaper mana cost alternatives.

i think your failing to see the power of playing a brainstorm or ponder and then popping a fetch to shuffle away shitty cards. while at the same time thinning your deck so your draw more threats/answers, and fixing your mana.

There is really a lack of synergy here. Basically the deck seems to be throwing a bunch of cards that are generally powerful together and hoping for the best.

Sure Iso-Scepter is nice if you put a Mana Drain on it.. but you only have two of those and 4 Scepters. Putting Muddle the Mixture on one doesnt really seem worth it, and do you really need to put a Stifle on one when you are already running 4 Torpor Orbs?

Speaking of Torpor Orb, your 2 Snapcaster Mages directly conflict with it and are basically useless once you get it in play.

The mana base is just generally weak. Normally I wouldnt mention it.. but the rest of the deck is already valued at $700. Having consistent mana is one of the most important things in any deck, without even mentioning the other benefits of fetchlands.

Cryptic Command is going to be a serious pain to cast reliably without some dual lands or shock lands.

The two random Ponders at the bottom honestly just seem like you ran out of ideas. Why not run full playsets of Brainstorm and Ponder?

Thank you guys I see it now. Just for the 4 polluted deltas, itll take me some time getting them as im rather broke at the moment. Soo this deck is on work in progress pause.
In the meantime Id really like it if you could comment and give me some ideas on my exchange life deck it has a few combos in it. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=337290
Cheers and thank you from Germany

so ill will try to add 4 polluted deltas and find something else instead of the 4* Stifle

i like stifle in this build. it does all sorts of cool stuff on top of cheating your creatures in.
i would play either some counters like, spell pierce, flusterstorm, dispel. or something like duress/ thoughtsieze to ensure you can resolve your combos and to help protect them once theyre out.

I think your weakest card in here right now is honestly Iso-Scepter.

And this is coming from a big fan of the Scepter. I have 8 of the things. I've tried squeezing them into almost everything. I've spent hours searching through lists of 2cc instants. In the end they just arent efficient.

The only way to really make Iso Scepter semi-competitive is to drop Silence or Orim's Chant on it. And it still always dies to Naturalize and friends. Krosan Grip can even blow up a Scepter with Mana Drain on it while you have mana available.

I just play for fun with friends and we don´t care about banned cards. At the moment theres only 56 cards as this deck is unfinished. Unfortunatelly im very busy with work at the moment and I have no time for Magic.

Well I like the deck, but your playing vintage casual ( which is my favourite format BTW) so get rid of Mana Leak for Counterspell and drop Terror for Go for the Throat. As well as previously mentioned add 4 Polluted Deltas. You probably should have bought the new Khans ones back in March when they were at their lowest ever at $14. Currently their $20 and I predict they will only climb in price for the ext year or so.
