Deck Description

This deck's original design started a few years back, but I deemed it too clunky to keep, so I scrapped the idea. Later, the release of Roon of the Hidden Realm renewed my interest in the deck design, and I put a lot of work into smoothing out all the kinks. Ironically, Roon himself didn't make the final cut.

This is one of my favorite decks, and is quite fun to play.

How to Play

Useful Tips and Tricks:

* Flickering your Fiend Hunter in response to its own Enter the Battlefield effect will cause its Leaves the Battlefield effect to resolve before the targeted creature is even exiled, effectively exiling the original creature permanently and still exiling a second creature normally.

* You can also use Fiend Hunter on your own creatures to protect them from removal (including your own Supreme Verdicts). Plus, you can still flicker the Fiend Hunter, causing two of your creatures to enter/leave the battlefield instead of one.

* Pairing Deadeye Navigator with Mystic Snake is downright evil, if you pull it off.

* Counter a spell using Familiar's Ruse, returning an Eternal Witness to your hand which can then be used to return Familiar's Ruse to your hand - providing another way to reuse counter-magic in this deck.

* Venser's first ability can flicker more than just creatures: he can get an extra scry/life out of your taplands, renew the mana in your basics for use during your opponent's turn, and change the permanent which Detention Sphere is containing - useful to take out tokens and then switch to a real permanent that needs to be dealt with.

* Also, don't overlook Venser's second ability - it can end games more often than his ultimate.

* Flickering Stonehorn Dignitary every turn effectively stops your opponent from ever attacking you again. According to the rulings, it entering the battlefield multiple times in a turn will cause its ability to stack - making your opponent skip that many combat phases.

* Flickering Deadeye Navigator will allow you to shift the soulbond ability around among your creatures on the fly, allowing you to use it with the creature whose ability best fits the current situation.
