Deck Description

I made a deck that's creatures just refuse to give up!
Please comment to make it better!

I decided to give up on it being standard as most of the most important cards will be cycled out in RTR

EDIT: wow! front page! Thanks for all the comments on how to make it better guys

Deck discussion for B/G Near Unkillable (now modern)

You're gonna need a sideboard. Let's start there.
1. It looks to me like you're gonna have a few problems against faster decks like Suicide Zombies (U/B) and Boros Humans (R/W). Tragic Slip is good MB, but I might add some removal SB.
2. Surgical Extraction works wonders against nearly any deck by picking out cards critical to the deck.
3. If your meta contains lots of graveyard-based decks, you could definitely use Nihil Spellbomb or Tormod's Crypt (once M13 comes out) to ruin their days.
4. Having two Black Suns MB is a good idea. I might add a couple SB if I were facing lots of token-based or weenie decks.

There are lots of other options out there. One thing that I think would make a nice addition MB is Phyrexian Metamorph. You may be paying 2 life every time, but you can use it to get rid of opposing Thruns or to copy your own good stuff. If you Pod a Geralf's Messenger and grab a Metamorph, you'd copy the Messenger with the Metamorph, and they'd be losing 4 life. Plus, you're gonna have a 4/3 body (Undying on the real Messenger) and a 3/2 body (Metamorph).

Ok, thanks i will add and move some things around now!!
I have a couple metamorphs but i never thought to add them. I can see how they would do well in this sort of a deck.

I agree with skoogle. I think you have too many undying evil. You only have 4 creatures that can use it ( not counting thrun who regenerated and grave crawler). Glissa, the traitor may not fit your deck but her first strike with death touch on a 3/3 body can slow down quicker decks and return your artifacts if they hit the graveyard.

Well, i would be including thrun because if i pod him for vorapede i cant regenerate him. So if i have that as an option, plus wurmcoil gets bad with undying as you still get the 3/3 tokens and a 7/7 deathtouch lifelink wurm.

so... in about a week and a day or so, m13 will release, and you have a few months before this rotates out of standard. In that time I would suggest you consider rancor, and one or two ground seals in the graveyard.

Well thank you anyways, but i want to be able to ghoul callers chant any creatures if needed so ground seal would be a very good option and rancor will probably be added.

I can't remember whats being rotated out its mirrodin block and m12 right?
I think so, so most of the deck will stay but some of the best will be gone :/

I kinda' like this... Drop the Blades & Throats from the sides & put in 4 "Dismember"... Drop a Backwood & 2 basics, put in 3 "Evolving Wilds"...

This looks quite stabil & effective...

THX 4 YO comment on "Havenfire"! :) ...

Aha very good, and if you're looking for something fun to do, look into Etched Monstrosity + Hex Parastie, one of my favourite combos!

maby some undying could be put into this deck to really show how it is unkillable and maby some Melira, Sylvok Outcast and other card with Persist (When this creature is put into a graveyard from play, if it had no -1/-1 counters on it, return it to play under its owner's control with a -1/-1 counter on it.) but Melira will make that card indrastuble

well, at the moment I'm trying to keep this standard :l
But, in the rules if a +1+1 counter is on a creature that also has a -1-1 counter, both counters are removed. They sort of cancel each other out. That's the whole reason behind black sun's zenith! Plus Hex parasite can just eat their +1=1 counters so they keep coming back!
Plus the whole deck is basically undying, what do you mean by adding undying would help...?

If i ever decide to go legacy with this (or modern) 4 bloodghasts are going in for sure!

Except or Wurmcoil Engine, I dot see the point in Undying Evil.

Well, with thrun if hes podded for a vorapede he can't regen, and with the black sun and the hex parasite i could undying a wurmcoil many times or even thrun! I could even undying the hex parasite or the metamorph assuming i didn't copy an already undying creature.

Sounds good, I use to run a deck similar to this, but It wasn't focused mainly on undying. It was more focused on artifact control with Mimic Vat and Birthing Pod. It is a sad day when you get Acidic Slime under Mimic Vat. I like the ideas put forth in you deck, though I would run 4 Geralf's Messengers.

I know it's a little expensive but what about Mikaeus, the Unhallowed?

Um, well i don't need him really but i may add 1 copy. I have a limited need for undying which is where the undying evils come from but, Maybe one couldn't hurt.

I like the deck! Similar to a recursion deck i made a while back. It's modern so i get to play with blood ghasts!

Looks like fun!

I might remove 2 of the undying evil and add in 2 Altars Reap. Don't really see the need for those when you have the chant as well. Besides, it's kinda fun sackin an undying creature to the reap for even more card advantage. Also, Noxious Revival has a similar effect as the ghoulcallers chant, but can get your pod out of the graveyard as well. Maybe +1 Noxious and remove a chant?

Also, you have 8 singleton creature kill spells in the sidebaord. I'd drop down to 4 and use the rest of those slots for something that's obviously a pain for your opponents. Phyrexian crusader might be a good candidate for 2 of those slots. I'd also consider naturalize or beast within for the other two.

The 3 black and 3 green mana requirement for the messenger and the vorapede can be a problem sometimes. Depending upon how much this is a problem for you, might think about swapping out something to help balance out your mana. Birds of paradise, caravan vigil, sphere of the suns, etc.

The flavor of this deck is absolutely perfect! I would love to see this in standard, but at the same time I am really excited about Return to Ravnica. Thank you for commenting on my deck.

No problem! I had it standard but again most of the best stuff will be cycled out like birthing pod and wurmcoil.

I dont know if anyone suggested Thran, the last Troll and maybe Green Sun's Zenith would be good here.

Nice deck.

I'd switch Noxious Revival for Gravepurge a bit more expensive but in my opinion more useful if you have lost a lot of creatures.

Feel free to coment on any of my decks
