That's where the draw/redraw combo of Gitaxian Probe and Noxious Revival comes in.

Also, Standard (for now.)

Besides, this is fun.

The fact that the rock-bottom estimate for this deck is thee bucks is testament to how killer the Squad is.

Turning life loss and creature disadvantage, two of my hallmarks as a player (seriously, every deck I get serious about, regardless of color, plays like a very retarded mono-black suicide), made a moot point.

What's not to love.

Apparently the current Caw Blade deck sideboards it against Weenies and RDW.

Called it.

I called Birthing Pod being the greatest card in Standard the moment it was spoiled. Now it's like twelve bucks.

Prophet/Profit of Doom.

This was very similar to my first deck when I got into the game, except with a bias towards nasty spells like Fireball, Earthquake, and Lava Axe.

I love the Assault Strobe/Double Cleave combo. One to bait a counterspell, the next to make it legit. Works best with a way to sweep the board, with some way to negate blockers, or on a big fat nasty with trample.

Since you got Tarns, why not throw in pretty much the best card ever? Two Zektar Shrines would give you 7/1s whenever you want.

The Certarch is REALLY good defensively, and it's the best blue one-drop outside of Kraken Hatchling. I getcha, though. If it was a mana ability instead, I'd be stoked.

It's problematic.

Upon further consideration, I think that the probability of drawing a Wurmcoil nulls the point of having Treasure Mage in the deck, and therefore Vapor Snag. Replacing Treasure Mages and Islands with the Cretarchs and Phyrexia's Cores.

It's safe to say that Wumpus takes the crown here.

That's tough to top.

(Or is it easy?)

JUST a little bit. Instant-speed Birthing Pod would do strange, sexy things to me.
