why wouldnt you add grand architect instead of adaptive automaton? ok its not an illusion, but if you add 2-3 wurmcoil engine, you can have 1 on the board on turn 3. Im not sure Jace fits with this deck. Another great card you could add is phyrexian metamorph.

your deck could be a lot more fast if cut some big cards(drana, bloodwitch, exsanguinate, disemtomb and maybe 1 or 2 nighthawk). To replace these cards put 4 bloodghast( it is the main vampire in the type of deck im talking), 4 kalastria highborne and some viscera seer , bloodthrone vampire and sword of geth. These cards may look bad but it adds synergy( you always sac ur bloodghast to boost your creature and you do the kalastria highborne to do damage). hope this can help!

u should really have 4 cursecatcher. Merfolk sovereign is good but not that much. U could also replace ur brainstorm with standstill(works great with aether vial). If u have the money, change ur counterspells withforce of will
