You should perhaps read the comments above?Protection abilities, and several other abiilities, does not have function in the graveyard. It has something to do with state-based effects, and zones and phases and yadda yadda. Basically, toss Reanimate or Dread Return on her, and she comes back, and then there's no more to it. If you do Animate Dead on her, the spell can't target her once she's up, but it's already taken her to the battlefield, so it doesn't matter. Or something along those lines.
Akroma has Protection from Black though. Which means she can't be the target of black spells. So you can't use Reanimate or the like on her. Right?

Ah. It seems, in pauper edh the commander is to be any non-legendary Uncommon card, and the other 99 is common. Thanks for your help, i wouldn't have figured this out otherwise.
But there does exist legendaries of common and uncommon rarity. They are as useful as their rarity indicates, yes, but why call it EDH if you're not using legendaries? Then it might as well just be a regular 100 singelton format.
There's no legendary creature to take the role of commander. If you want a commander with Cascade, try splashing the deck with a bit of agressive blue, and go with Malestrom wanderer. If you want a red and green commander... well, there are only about a million of them out there. Borborygmos, for an example.
Please, explain to a newbie, what is it that makes this deck legacy/vintage illegal?
Coming to think of it, I have been looking around for a deck to shove up the arse of those competative "There is no such thing as social gaming" douchebags at the local gamecenter.
It's a good deck, but you can get a hold of a playset or lightningbolt for like... less than 2 bucks, if you know where to look. no? Plus, it's an iconic red instant. Isn't it worth that the deck price rises from 14 to 16 bucks because of it
