i stumbled upon a neat combo interaction with se from ts while i was looking through the ts previews. please tell me if it's doesn't work the way i say it. here's the interaction: play Crypt Champion, but don't pay R for it. then sac se to get it back. get se back with Crypt Champion, and you're back to where you started from. you can do an infinite loop like this, so just add in soul warden and you have infinite life. also, you can do this with another se instead of Crypt Champion, but the legend rule makes it a little bit trickier to pull off. the colors for the combo are GWB, which is already a friendly combination of colors via roxodon. and you can get the combo off a couple turns after a congregation at dawn. something i like about this interaction that imo makes it tourny viable is beacuse it's much less disruptable than most other combo decks. if soul warden dies, you can get it back via se or cc. same with the other peices of the combo. in short, you can get them back while going off. of course, countermagic will be a problem, so some defense grid/green leyline will be sb material. one of my questions is if i should make this a control-combo deck, or try to combo asap. roxodon colors make it easy to make a control variant, but some of the combo pieces aren't what you would call control cards. this combo can go off 3rd turn at the earliest, but will need 1 soul ward, 2 se by turn 3, and a way to kill se 3rd turn (example: attacking, saving soul warden). in a control variant, you'd have acce ss ti wrath/mortify/castigate/etc. we could also have a little bit of both for versatility. and one of the best things about this deck is that needle and extraction are leaving the format. it's also very cheap to go off. and we have ways to tutor for the combo peaces.
