Deck Description

My death by drawing deck. I wanted to build a deck based around the Psychosis crawler and this is what became of that dream. I named this deck after one of my favorite bands Oneiroid Psychosis. I felt it was fitting since Psychosis crawler is the star here and Oneiroid means dream.

The whole point of this deck is to force drawing on everyone. The idea is to have a bunch of card in my hand with no max hand size and force the opponent to discard for maxing out their hand size. The drawing is also how damage is dealt in this deck. Psychosis crawler and underworld dreams makes it so the more drawn the more damage is dealt. This become extremely amusing when Forced fruition and Teferi's puzzle box hits the board.

This deck does not focus on creatures for support. It's more about getting out the win condition and using remaining mana to prevent damage. This deck works well in multiplayer and even better as a support deck.

Dread and propaganda we're put into this deck as attack deterrents. Aetherize, devastation tide and killing wave we're added in for creature control. Venser's journal was added for life regeneration and to get rid of the max hand.

How to Play

Get the draw spells out and leave mana open to use counter and control the board. Also leave mana as a bluff to deter people from doing certain things.

Deck discussion for Oneiroid Psychosis

At over a hundred cards the deck seems to be a little clunky and unpreditable. How do you handle fast aggro from multiple parties in multi player? If I saw this deck more than once I would come right at you from the getgo. Anyway, Standstill would be good in your deck - play it and bust it and everyone else draws 3. If you add red to the deck you can play Phyrexian Tyranny and Obstinate Familiar to prevent your draw. Fabricate for the Puzzle Box and you have a strong win condition on the board. Zombie Infestation helps you with defense and could help you with the rest of my suggestions to make this into a 60 card deck, but the Crawler would not be needed then. Sorry......

Phyrexian Tyranny is very appealing. I don't know how I'd work red into the deck. I will have to keep it in consideration. All those cards would be great to run in this deck. :D

Terramorphic Expanse(2) and 1 Mountain is the least expensive way, or a Lotus Petal, Vivid Land or a Red Fetch land. If these ideas help you give me a thumbs up (rep Point), always glad to help, especially imaginative decks like yours.

The deck actually works pretty good most of the time. If howling mine and font of mythos get out the deck usually cycles fast enough to get what I need out of it. I have to play very very defensively when I play it. I usually have to keep mana open and I have to sometimes try and bluff the others i'm playing with. I decided to go with 100 cards because of the way the drawing works. I was also having trouble keeping it under 60 cards. I've haven't had trouble with the mana converstion. Overall it's getting better as I adjust it. I wouldn't normally attempt over 100 with my decks since this one lets me cycle through the deck I made an exception.

One thing i've noticed with this deck is that people like to keep me around early because of the extra draws it gives to others. Also sometimes there's someone who wants to keep me around because of it and they will help me stay alive for it The early group hug aspect to it keeps me from dying sometimes.

The Trick I've noticed with this deck it to try and make myself seem useful to the others and to try and avoid making myself into a target playing underworld dreams or the puzzle box to early. This deck is good at making it seem like the smallest threat so people don't focus on me as much as some of the other decks played.

The biggest problem I've been trying to solve is how to deter players from attacking me. Which is why I've added Dread and propaganda.

If being attacked is your main problem you could add Upheaval( with Reliquary Tower in play), possibly Crystal Shard, or use Thunderstaff to encourage opponents to attack someone else. The Vow auras from Commander decks prevent you from being attacked by the enchanted creature and also encourage fighting among your opponents. Darkness is a black fog you also can use.

I really like the Thunderstaff idea. It not only lowers damage coming at me but I can use it to entice people to attack the other players.
