Deck Description

Easy to use instant and sorcery buff deck.

How to Play

Best draw would be:
Turn 1 - Mountain
Turn 2 - Island, Kiln Fiend
Turn 3 - Mountain, Brute Force/Titan's Strength, Assault Strobe, Any unblockable spell

That gives you a 13/5 double striking unblockable creature on turn 3.

Not too bad.

Deck discussion for Smash to the Face

Id drop Wee Dragonauts replace them with Delvers. Also have you looked at replicate cards? like Gigadrowse or Leap of Flame cause they let you spam cheap spells and max out you "spell buff" creatures. Also have you considered Fling in cases where you cannot attack directly (sideboard).

Good idea about the Delvers, however, the replicate thing does not work the way you mention. You are only casting the original card, the replicate copies are not cast so they do not buff the creatures. It's similar to the Storm mechanic, the copies are put on the stack but you are not casting them.

you desperately need more removal in this deck. you have no way to deal with troublesome creatures other than 4 lightning bolts. I would run at least 4 incinerates to get rid of the opponents effect creatures. I would also run 4 ponders, as you only have 12 creatures and almost no way to speed up the deck

I could care less about other creatures really. All I need to do is get 3 instants in my hand along with an unblockable spell and they are pretty neutered at that point (especially if I have the brute force or titan's strength). The main point of this deck is to get 1 or 2 buff creatures out, wait until you get enough instants in your hand to uncork a massive attack and kill your opponent in one fell swoop. A fog effect would be bad, but such is the way of life. I had ponder's in the deck when I first created it, but will consider adding them back in.

This is just a casual deck I play with some buddies at work. I do not play in tourneys, I just play to have fun.

The Armpit suggestion...is sound. He suggested Dragonauts. I like it over the Nivix.
I would run it. HOWEVER, i never even thought about stuff like Artful Dodge.

And since Delver has flying too...might not need Dragonauts.
Do you top deck often in this deck? Might want to add 3 draw cards...somewhere.

Oh yeah, if you are going the way of Artful Dodge and the sort...why not run Distortion Strike?!
Since drawing will help you, why not up +1 the Shadow Rift and remove the Artful Dodge and add in Distortion Strike?

Sure, Dodge has flashback that can be payed anytime. But you have to pay mana to get it back. Distortion Strike will get you two turns of being unblocked PLUS the second turn will be an absolutely free spell which will power up your Kiln Fiend/Secrets.

Good luck!

I found that Artful Dodge was a little better in that if I needed 2 spells to pump up my guys in 1 turn, i could play the artful dodge once and then flash it back in the same turn on the 2nd creature. Pumping both up by +6/+0 and both are unblockable. I used to have Distortion Strike in here, but removed them after play testing.
