Deck Description

taking the Rune-Scarred Demon route, I think this definitely makes the mana better for the deck, as you can minimize white and draw more consistent hands. Also, Rune-Scarred is just as big a bomb as Sun Titan; play it, get another, then if you untap with him in play, play your other rune-scarred, get Phantasmal Image(s) and put your opponent on a one-turn clock.

Deck discussion for Darkflare

If you want to do well against aggressive decks, you need better removal than silent departure. With the amount of Snapcasters you're running, its flashback is irrelevant. I would recommend Go for the Throat, or even better, Doom Blade. If you're relying on Rune-Scarred Demons as an endgame, you need to seriously slow down your opponent. More Day of Judgement/Black Sun's Zenith would be the best way to do that. Also, Silent Departure is a SORCERY, which seriously reduces its usefulness. The best combo to use with Phantasmal Image is Sun Titan, so if you're only using 1, you might as well replace all three with Grave Titans.
You might want to make this a UB control, but if you want Solar Flare, I would definitely recommend more Sun Titans. For ideas, you can look at my deck: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=242578
Good luck with this deck. +1
