Deck Description

The game plan is simple, disrupt your opponent's hand until your haste creatures can bring them to zero!

This deck did surprisingly well against UB Control. post board that is. i brought in all my creatures in the board and my graveyard hate.
It does okay against midrange decks as long as you get a sarkhan or a dragon in a timely manor.

How to Play

Sorin and the Whip are great with the haste creatures because even if they can handle them next turn you bought yourself a lot more time to get the big threats out. lifelink on a 5/5 or 4/4 dragon is pretty nice, especially when you are using so much of it to disrupt your opponent's hand.

Brain maggot is a great tempo play, i don't mind forcing them to waste a removal spell to get another one back, it just means they won't have any for my threaats!

I like Hushwing, most of the green decks have lots of etb (genesis hydra, seige rhino, hornet queen, etc.. ) shuts them down nicely, also the constellation decks have to deal with it first.

1st thing how/why do you think hushwing stops all the stuff you listed? 2nd sorin does you no good in a deck with so few creatures. valorous stance would be a good add. add a few more board clears and main board anger of the gods. id also run ugin, the spirit dragon.
in control all those tapped lands are not good for you add some fetches instead

Hushwing stops the Rhino trigger and the first Sisidisi trigger. Banishing Light, Chained to the Rocks, and Courser are unaffected. Sorin doesn't need a lot of creatures to be powerful. He makes creatures for free. I suggest adding Elpeth in conjunction with Sorin. I agree with more board wipes. You're colors have the best board wipes in standard. In a control deck tapped lands dont hurt that much. Tapped lands hurt the most in tempo based strategies. Control strategies can sacrifice a little tempo and still come out ahead.

sorin still works better in a horde deck for control id rather have ugin

I don't agree with taking out Sorin. He's powerful on his own and provides inevitability. Ugin is also powerful but does not provide inevitability. Control without inevitability is a bad midrange deck.

ive heard a few people say that sorin is good by himself but I don't get it. pay 4 mana for sorin -2 to get a 2/2 flyer opponent kills sorin or the flyer next turn where is the power? wouldn't it be better to run a 4 drop creature then?

Planeswalkers aren't easy to kill. Harder once you've established control. Sorin protects himself by making a blocker. Elpeth does it better but he does protect himself. In most cases he functions as a whip, giving your dudes lifelink and preventing a comeback. Sorin is a real threat and can take over by himself, but he is stronger with friends.

To answer your second question, is it better to play a 4 drop creature? Most of the time but not always, no. Not in control build. Creatures are easy to kill and can backfire if you're playing board wipes. Sorin doesn't have to worry about that. And Sorin's ultimate is perfect for control build. Forcing your opponent to sac a creature every turn is powerful. And once he goes ultimate victory is almost guaranteed. Your opponent can't play creatures and you're free to swing with your 3/2 vampire with lifelink. He's inevitability on a stick.

Sorry i haven't checked this in a while. Thanks for all the feedback, I agree with more board wipes, i'm also thinking about adding bile blights.

I needed to read hushwing a little more. Thanks for pointing that out haha

I like Sorin because he makes the threats just a bit more deadly, and a possible 12 point swing from a kolaghan attack is nice. If I already have a whip in play then his vampires already have lifelink too, he is really good.

I've tried Elspeth and Ugin in this deck and i didn't really like them, also scroll is bad. that was an experiment.
