Deck Description

i thought i'd add colors to my STAX list and make it better. at firs this was BW, running a nether void to hit off of tutor, but void turned out to be the only black card in here, so i dropped it for the more waste-land proof manabase.
though i dont have a ton of experience with STAX and so am not sure the extent of how good this is, i really like it. it's a ton of fun to play with, and there isn't a single moment of mercy, so it's right up my alley.
Though it's been a few weeks, i am still very rusty after my few years off. there's a good chance i have missed some crucial cards. if i did, please fill me in, it would be much apreciated.

How to Play

for those who have played STAX, do the usual.
if you do not know how to play STAX, here's the idea: use tomb, city, dynamo, mox and monolith to power out sphere-of-resistance-like effects in the early game, keeping the opponent from casting spells. control the board until you drop golem or wurmcoil, then swing away until you win.
because of my long break, i have no idea what the meta is. when you add that to the fact i haven't made many STAX designs, the result is that i have no idea what to do with the sideboard. right now it's an extension of my enlightened tutor toolbox -- since i have no idea what to do, i'll just do ALL OF IT. nodes because i saw them in Blackfire's "Strox" deck (which if you like extraction/pox/opponents raging you should check out : http://www.mtgvault.com/blckfirphoenx/decks/extrox-2/ ), and i thought it would be sweet in STAX, what with the low cmc and high average power. spirit of the labyrinth is for any draw abuse (*caugh* walletsculptor *caugh*). rule shuts down combo matchups. macambre is instant-speed uncounterable trinisphere-proof graveyard hate. abyss is for when i need one-sided board destruction. needle deals with whatever i have trouble dealing with, null rod hoses affinity/metalworker and the mirror, and the 4rth chalice and 3rd crucible because why not.
the second tabernacle is there because i want to add it to the main, but i dont know what to drop.

Deck discussion for You there.Stop it. All of it.

I like it, but I am intrigued by the choice of Thran Dynamo. I usually use Mox Opal for a cheap accelerant, and a smaller land base as is my norm. How is that working for you?

I also really suggest more Winter Orb. It can win you so many games that it is ridiculous. And Jester's Cap can make for a /very/ powerful sideboard tool.

Overall a very interesting list for Stax Brian, even for the Glue versions it has low counts on some cards, but I can see good reason for it at the same time. Very interesting indeed.
