Deck discussion for Shiver me Timbers!

Dude, I love Treefolk. Probably one of my top favorite tribes. I'm sad that my deck led to Treefolk being a banned tribe in our Tribal format...but when you really think about it...It's justified. Treefolk are good, it's just a fact. And they can be good in many different styles too.

I look forward to the complete version of this =]

If you could get treefolk as a banned tribe then you must be playing with some real noobs man

Funny, i just looked through each of your decks and this one would wreck each of them. So if this being banned means we're playing with noobs i guess you're invited then! =D

It really doesn't fit here between Heartwood and Leaf-Crowned's Kinship ability, but I've always loved Living Terrain from Prophecy. Would Awakener Druid be worth adding here, though?

Awakener Druid is that green ally right?

Nah, it's that human druid for 2G. It's a 1/1 and turns a forest you control into a 4/5 treefolk as long as it's on the battlefield.

He he he he >:D

Treefolk are an awesome tribe and a friend has an Ent deck, so I know what it feels like to have a tree bend you over and beat you :p but last night I took it out with a modified version of my deck "Attack Me, I Dare You" :D

Really though. Treefolk can be brutal! I really want to make a Doran EDH deck..

Have you considered running 2x or 3x GSZ to cheat Doran and others onto the battlefield? Great for early game mana ramp, getting an extra BOP, or grabbing a second Timber Protector, or cheating Doran onto the battlefield on your third turn (assuming at least 1 ramp card)

I also just realized that Leaf-Crowned Elder and Conspiracy could make for an interesting deck.

I actually did consider GSZ but i really dont have room for it=/

That would make for a perty funny deck! kinda expensive CMC wise but fun!

There's always room for GSZ! It's the best of every creature in your deck, every time as long as you have all (or mostly) green creatures in the deck. This deck seems to qualify. So, to start you could just cut a few of the cards down by 1 because adding 4 GSZ is like adding 4 more of that card anyway so you're really (sorta) just upping the count on everything you cut! Also, adding 1 Dryad Arbor would make it even better as it's a ramp spell at x=0 on turn 1 if you need. Plus, it's just a cool Forest that can attack! I'd probably add 3-4 GSZ for 1 Dourbark, 1 Arbor Elf, and 1 or 2 Khalni Heart Expedition (I'm just not a huge fan of this card, even in ramp decks...).

Certainly don't have to agree with me on all of it, but I hope it helped give a few ideas or views to kick around with the deck. Looks fun to play.:)

Oh i will definitely take your thoughts into consideration! i'll experiment with 3 and see how it goes! i personally dont like dryad arbor at all... it counts as my land drop except it has summoning sickness! and can be ping-ed off! but i'll give the GSZ a try! thanks!

Edna! would you mind checking out a few of my newer decks? specifically the wizard and BUG one? =) thanks!

Man, Defense of the Heart would make this deck rip other creature-based decks to pieces! If you are a bit down on the luck getting Doran out or just want some damage pumping, I would def. drop it in. Seeing as most treefolk are pretty expensive to get out as it is, for 5 mana you would get to search your deck for 2 of them and put them straight into play! no mana required!

awesome. I was going to suggest more ways to get forests out of the deck and into play but i think that's handled. Great using fetchlands to do that and make way for the elder's kinship. Bannerets help a lot.

No need for harrow/cultivate. I'd say dont add more non-treefolk cards at all. Very cool treefolk deck :) i just made a wall tribal with doran and hes a freaking beast.

as a side note it would be sick having leaf-crowned elder made into a changeling.
