Deck discussion for Wizards of the Coast

See, this is why we banned Wizards lol. They're card advantage defined...

I don't think Schoolmaster works in here though...

I TOTALLY forgot about fatespinner! and actually looked at patron wizard made a mental note of him then forgot about him lol, you've given me ideas, lets see.....

Looks great now. This is a really powerful Wizard tribal to be honest...Lighthouse and Fatespinner is a brutal mix. Any reason you're using Library of Leng over any of the other infi-hand things? There's a land that I use (usually a 3-of) in decks where I want massive hand size. It might be a good idea to also free you up 2 more slots for some extra stuff =P

Other than that...solid deck man =]

Mainly because it was in the first deck i ever used and so it comes to mind very readily lol

I really like this deck as i too have a really fun wizard deck. I wish i knew of sage of fables when i made it though:( also why exactly misty rainforest, i understand the land search for if you get slowed up at the start, but is it better than, say, the same ammount of halimar depths? id also look into maybe switching maybe the curse catchers, since youre bound to have a patron or two out, with temporal adepts? dunno if that slows you down or not.

and since you have a really good wiz tribal could you take a look at mine and maybe throw a few pointers around?

sure thing i'll take a look! thanks for checking mine out!

Cursecatcher is surprisingly useful early game! and if i dont use him then he just turns into a counter if patron wizard is on the field! But i'll look into your suggestion =)

it's a little straightforward, but I love beating people over the head with a nameless one wearing a whispersilk. Also, if you throw Stonybrook back in here, Aphetto Grifter is perfect with a lot of the Lorwyn-age tapper wizards.

But what would you do if I had a Fever Charm!?

that all depends on which turn you played it! =)

lol Precisely! So give me a scenario and i'll tell you how i'd respond >=]

It's turn 2, you have just played Lighthouse Chronologist and tapped your two Islands, you played Sage of Epityr last turn, you pass over to me. I on the other hand played Bloodcrazed Goblin last turn, and now I play Fever Charm at your Lighthouse Chronologist... and chose the third effect...

hmmm... Tough scenario lets see.................................

I would Flash in Bone Saw which protects him from all harm ^_^

lol but seriously i would obvioulsy just let you kill him! but that wouldnt be that big of a problem considering i've always thought of the chronologist as cannon fodder anyway lol kinda like DMO

Harsh huh? another scenario...

It's turn 4 you have two Cursecatchers - one of them you played this turn - and a Stonybrook Banneret in play, as well as three Islands and a Ivory Tower. You want to play Sage of Fables but don't know if I will play, for instance Fever Charm(In your face!). Well I do, on your beloved Stonybrook Banneret, what do you do?

I would play my land for the turn and then still play Sage of Fables lol considering i still have 3 mana untapped anyway xD if i didnt decide to play it i would Douse your fever charm with my sage's dousing! lol My banneret is beloved, i'm glad you realize that =]

You already played Ivory Tower tower tis turn, but that was correct. I guess I can't trick you with your own deck.

haha well to be fair you never actually said i played the Tower this turn =) you only specified that i had played the cursecatcher!

Haha no sir/ma'am you cant =) would you mind checking out my 2 newest decks? you seem to actually look at decks before you comment and i like that! ^_^

Y misty rain forest? no land fall or anthing no forest either isnt it useless?

Fetchlands are mainly used for deck thinning. They are also extremely useful for landfall, but their true worth comes from making your deck smaller and thus slightly increasing the chances of pulling what you need.

@ Buddysystem, Wizards ftw! There is much awesomeness here.

Thanks Majician! @devildemoner Majician is exactly right! deck thinning and speed boost for my deck =D

Dude wizards are one of the most broke tribes in the game and i believe this deck proves it =] excuse my pride=}

temporal adepts i think is a must you need removal,at least put him in your sideboard

Diviner's Wand is another thing you might think of it, jushi appentice and Riptide Director are not bad at all

i would loose ivory tower, venser journal is expensive but not a bad card, i would always keep the banneret and patron wizard

Ivory tower is freaking sick with this deck! talk about some obscene card which translates to lots of life!

I had a deck VERY similar to this one. A difference that comes to mind though was it had Cephalid Constable and Diviner's Wand. Wings of Velis Vel too.

This deck is great but I think its missing something. there isn't a huge win factor. If they manage to cast something big and you cant counter it then you're going to run into a real problem. Temporal Adept is a MUST. You can bounce back anything that is giving you a hard time and then hope to counter it the 2nd time around. You could even return one of you're own creatures if it is being threatened. Temporal Adept would take this deck to a whole new level of evil. I dont see the cursecatchers doing too much for you, I would switch them for the adepts.
