My wife has taken a liken to the Orzhov guild from Ravnica (to the point of getting the guild symbol as a tattoo) and in honor and homage to her I decided to make an EDH deck. Now, I'm sure there are lots of other choices for black-white commanders. I felt like I wanted to stay in Orzhova the most I could. So I decided to use Karlov to try somethings with getting as much life as possible, as quick as possible and get Karlov big and nasty so essential I could do two things.1. Use his ability to pay one white and one black to remove 6 of the +1/+1 counters you get from this triggered ability to exile threats.2. Get Karlov big and swing for commander damage. There are a couple of win conditions listed in the deck to also help in letting the other players know that Orzhova is the best guild.1. Felidar Sovereign - Self Explanatory. You have more than 40 life? (Easy to do with this deck) You win.2. Sanguine Bond and Exquisite Blood. (Infinite combo) #sorrynotsorry** If you don't like the infinite combo listed above either one does a great amount of work in this deck. I also have Divinity of Pride on Standby to replace either of them.**I've also included Thief of Blood (both for its ETB ability and as a good answer to counter based decks like Atraxa) and Dark Depths. Thief of Blood's ability removes the ice counters from Dark Depths bringing out Marit Lage. I've actually ended a game with a huge Karlov, Marit Lage, a 27/27 Thief of Blood among other monstrosities and happened to have out whip of Erebos and won the game with well over 150 life.Aetherflux Reservoir might be a good fit in this deck as well as a replacement for Westvale Abbey.*UPDATE*I've removed Westvale Abbey from the deck and put into Meren and replaced it here with Fetid HeathAny comments/suggestions/improvements warmly welcomed.
