Basic goal of this deck is to eliminate early threats by use of paths/pushes, secure the mid-game by unloading our numerous wrath affects, and then completely lock the opponent out of the game by use of curse of death's hold and overwhelming splendor. Overwhelming splendor makes all creatures 1/1 and curse of death's hold immediately destroys them. This essentially shuts off many decks from winning-as a lot of decks in modern win by using creatures. There are a fair number as well that don't such as U/W control, Jeskai, Storm, Jund to some extent, Ironworks combo, and probably a few others that I can't think of at the moment. Anyway, the deck plays 4 leylines to protect against burn and thoughtseize decks. The sideboard is dedicated to the non-creature spell-based matchups.
