you want 3ish lands in the opening hand. a temple allows you to flex a bit.in most matchups, there's no reason to try to get ahead in the early game. turn 1-3 should only see removal spells from you. master of feasts is a good turn 3 drop if you're starting to get overwhelmed, but is best to follow up with a notion thief or fate unraveller. desecration demon is great for taking some of your opponent's creature hate. a wonderful drop to make sure your opponent is going to kill something more important (like a fate unraveller).your win cons: Fast aggro with big demons. turn 3 master of feasts, turn 4 des demon or another master, turn 6 swing for the win (hopefully). the draw combo: use master of feasts and fate unraveller to draw your opponent to death. whispering madness makes it happen faster than they'd expect (cipher onto the demon and attack if they can't block it).it's technically possible to force them to draw themselves out, but i wouldn't count on it.notion thief + whispering madness gives ultimate card advantage if you need it. with a cyclonic rift prior to the WM, you can remove everything they have, and dump their hand, giving you a nearly guaranteed win.
