Deck Description

a pretty basic extractor deck that runs in modern rather than legacy as many of them seem to. modern seems like a format that can be more easily crippled by an extractor deck.

i chose esper colors to allow for a basis in blue white control that uses the black mana to extract more than anything else. i feel that although extraction is primarily a black effect i feel that it works incredibly well with blue. unfortunately i find black blue control to lack a lot of the things i feel are necessary to deal with the full range of threats that can be thrown around in modern. i turned to white blue control which allows for a more effective way to stabilize the board that isn't a damnation (which in itself is just a color shifted wrath of god which in my opinion is not worth half the money people pay for it). i prefer the effects of terminus and the uncounterable supreme verdict in this case.

anyways opinions on my first extraction deck are welcome.

How to Play

for aggro: easiest matchup for us here. knock out their big threats and extract them. then win by use of aetherling while they struggle to get creatures on board.

for midrange: this is perhaps on of the hardest wins for this deck as you need to bait out their removal while still dealing with creatures

for burn: hit the big burn spells as fast as you can and you will fin this matchup easier than one might think. might however put some cardss in the sideboard for this matchup.

for control: aim for couterspell and their win conditions. hit the counters as fast as you can by forcing them to use one.
