Deck Description

Hi!

This deck is stolen from mtgsalvation. All credit is due to the OP. However, I have changed a few high value cards. (im looking at you mana crypt)

http://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/the-game/commander-edh/multiplayer-commander-decklists/217201-norin-the-wary-heads-i-win-tails-you-lose

I personally want to cheapen this deck. What would you do to replace the big bucks cards? It would be great for value to be at 300$ or about that. Thats so I can actually buy it.

How to Play

Just blink Norin all the time and be awesome!

Also, if you want an extremely complete how-to then look at the link.

Deck discussion for Norin the Blinking God

I don't understand why Norin is the commander (I didn't click the link, not going to; you should just explain how you would play the deck and don't make me do extra work helping you, lol).

You know that Imperial Recruiter is something like $250 on its own, right?

Blood Moon is another $40, and it hoses your special lands(ex: Valakut), Magus of the Moon is probably not good enough- play goblin Ruinblaster instead if you *really* need that many ways to stop nonbasic lands from doing whatever it is that you're afraid they're going to do. Swap Goblin Settler (another $40) with Avalanche Riders, maybe?

Is this just a Goblin deck with an off-tribe commander? It seems like it could just as easily have Daretti, Krenko, Purphoros or even Kiki-Jiki as a commander and do better...

The most important effects are triggered by creatures entering the battlefield, and Norin does that extremely well by continuously doing just that.

I think it's mostly funny because people, who don't know Norin, always say things like: "Hey your Commander does nothing." and than they loose to Genesis Chamber + Purphoros, God of the Forge, before they even understood, what was going on. This joke takes a long time to get old and people are rarely mad at me when i win like this. I think the most funniest wins are the ones with Warp World, where i just reset the board and the player who is ahead will randomly be decided, unless I had Genesis Chamber and billion of tokens on the board, that count towards my permanents, gained this way.

Purphoros, God of the Forge and Krenko, Mob Boss are very straight forward and My deck will be filled with a lot of on-topic cards. Norin doesn't synergize with a lot of cards, especially not in red. That means, that I have a lot of slots, i can use for weird disruption like Chandra Ablaze, Knowledge Pool, Possibility Storm or Warp World, that other decks wouldn't even look at. It also feels good when the strongest card in my deck is Confusion in the Ranks and everyone is desperatly searching for a Disenchant, once this enters the batllefield, because there are very few games i would loose, while it's on the board.
In the end Norin will win less games, but is also less focused by other players and the way it wins is way more fun.

Just read the fucking primer. Sorry for language, but swearing is useful. Norin does all the etb triggers.

Thank you for explaining the idea behind the deck. You only have 5 cards in the deck atm that do anything with Norin specifically (purphoros, confusion, chamber, pandemonium and warstorm), so the idea wasn't really obvious to me. When you're asking for help, the best thing you can do is make it easy for others to help you, even if you just copy/pasted the information instead of a link.

Anyway, that's water under the bridge at this point.

I'm not sure what the problem is that you're trying to solve- you clearly have an idea of what you want to do, the deck as listed (minus Imperial Recruiter since the site doesn't give a price for it) is $302 (With recruiter it's upwards of 5 bills). If it's about ETB effects/damage and you're trying to make it cheaper, your first change should be "add an Impact Tremors."

Blasting Station could also be a thing? Mogg Bombers might be useful, since the ability will deal damage for each creature that comes in, whether they get sacrificed or not. Kruin Striker could one-shot someone theoretically with enough triggers, as well, though it's not really taking advantage of Norin, but it's totally budget. Foundry Street Denizen is in-tribe and more or less (genesis tokens notwithstanding) does the same thing but without trample.
