How to Play

This is a deck designed to use Demonic Pact while ultimately gaining land advantage to use the big slow control cards to gain advantage. The Pact adds what you don't get from the early land grab creatures.

Because of Traverse and Witness, there is a reliance on some activity within the graveyard. So you will want to kill persistent graveyard hate, as well as your Pact. This means selecting cards that remain relevant when there is no pact out, or no other targets.

The mix of permanent control is important and defines how the deck boards. These are the classic suboptimal cards, but a choice allows for some flexibility. (Remember that giving your opponent land works against the deck, hence the obvious missing card)

Play with any 7 cards that can destroy Pact and you should be safe. In Modern, if you survive long enough to worry about the Pact, you probably have good board position.
