It costs 9 (please comment)

Main Deck (63 cards)

Sideboard (0 cards)

No sideboard found.

The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

The idea is to get Grozoth out asap to fetch all the 9 casting cost creatures, then play Myojin of Life's Web and remove the divinity counter to put all the 9 casting creatures that Grozoth put in the hand into play.

Constructive criticism is appreciated.

Deck discussion for It costs 9 (please comment)

It seems really slow. I think you either need something like Wall of Denial, Fogs, or Days of Judgment to keep yourself going till you can start dropping stuff.

Elvish Piper may also be worth considering.

Thanks, i'll try some of them, but i won't use piper. piper pulls too much attention in multiplayer and dies too quickly (destroy, burn, counter, est.)

It may sound strange, but I'd concider building a reanimater verison of this deck...it would be noticeably faster...You can get Grozoth in play by the second turn...downside you still have to find a way to play myojin from your hand...other wise I'd just suggest playing "defense of the heart"

In response to what Deathwitness said, a reanimator version would be a very good idea. and a way to solve reanimation of the myogin would be "That Which Was Taken" from the kamigawa block.

I always liked quicksilver amulet for dropping creatures early, but it pulls removal the same way piper does... maybe piper + ascetism? Its still kinda slow unless you go a decent amount of ramp :/

This deck is really good. The main problem is that , as people have already pointed out, it is really slow. To fix that, I see 2 options. Number one, which your already leaning to, is ramp, with that you add Sakura-tribe elders, bops, and maybe cultivate/kodamas reach. The other option is to go with control, where u just counter and kill all there stuff with spells like remand, mana leak, path to exile, wraths, and other cards like that. I personally think that ramp would be better, if you are going for ramp, then I think you need to cut inkwell leviathan to 2, cut reya, all the body's of jukai, and to of the blazing archons. You don't really need to get put all those 9 mana cards. I think quicksilver amulet would be good, you might want to replace Aetherplasm with it. If your concern with quicksilver amulet is it drawing removal spells, well consider that Aetherplasm will also draw removal spells. A good ramp card is magus of the vineyard. You could also go with urza lands as your ramp, although that is used so much it's pretty boring. Just my two cents

This deck might be worth working Quest of Ula's Temple into. Might get Grozoth in quicker, and if something happens to the Myojin, you can drop more Grozoths and the Inkwells.
