Welcome , it's not the most conventional strategy and hasn't seen major use in a long time but used to be several creatureless red burn decks that just hammered with spells and artifact/enchantment plinker abilities to kill creatures and the opponent.
Thought of running a this as a nearly no creature red spell build? Switch down to a few red walls, run rod of ruin and other plinker artifacts and just block then while hammering their life.
Ah ok yeah I can see that being a draft/freebie built deck... Everyone's been the at one point or another. My original deck is still around after 13 years, needs a major overhaul but too many memories of the fun with its current weird format.
... Umm WTF? You're running like 3-5 too few lands, too many different creatures and not enough targeted spells that aren't expensive bestows to make heroic useful. Cut down to 4 stacks of 4 creatures, or 2 stacks of 4 and 4 stacks of 2. Remove the bestows and bring yourself up to 24 cheaper Instants/Sorceries/Auras. When you're done that add 3 lands so when it's done you're running 16 Creatures, 24 Targeted Spells, and 20 Lands. That'll really help make this deck balanced, consistent and reliable.
Idk agree with the Hour of Need thing, it contradicts this decks methods. Is say keep Thaumaturge but drop down to 2 of them. Then use the 3 freed up slots for a 4th Charm, another Island, and a Keranos.
How bout Torment Thoughts or Disciple of Phenax.
Considered Agent of the Fates?
Nice only suggestion I've got is Master of the Feast instead of Herald of Torment. Same cost, you're forcing discard as is so an extra card a turn isn't going to be as big an issue and you don't lose life and get a 5/5 for the same cost.
Yeah I could see the blue if it was more than just a splash. Considered moving to a more U/G dual color setup instead of just the splash?
Tell you what? It's a standard green ramp deck except for that weird blue splash that's not really going to do anything. Drop the blue and the temples and just keep it mono green ramp.
Yeah good call on not getting Shock Lands, I'm keeping my deck light on M14/RTR for that same reason. Considered Unknown Shores? That could work in the place of the Gates. Oh and I'd say move up Doom Blade to 3 but sideboard them and run 3 Ultimate Price in as your normal.
Rofl that's a good reason!
Still gonna recommend bringing Rakdos and Flamespeaker up to 2 of each for consistency.
I'd second the Spiteful Returned, great creature, 1B 1/1 Bestow 3B Whenever Spiteful Returned or enchanted creature attacks defending player loses 2 life.
Seems to be more or less the normal Orzhov Control setup besides the Gods and Master of the Feast.
What exactly is the goal of this deck, seems to be Rakdos aggro/burn. I'd suggest at least bringing up the count of every card to 2 minimum to make it more reliable.
Oh yes I confused Ajani's Presence with it.
Welcome so yeah Mortals Ardor is a good one drop instant. +1/+1 and Indestructible til end of turn. I'd say drop the Launch the Fleet and Glimpse of the Sun God and replace them with 4 Mortals Ardor and 4 Ajani's Presence.
Nice deck but I'd suggest adding more one drop instants to allow rapid triggers of heroic, as well as replacing the Vanguard with Phalanx Leaders for increase in counter generating.
