Deck Description

Doom Patrol- my attempt to make value cards congeal into tempo and material advantages.

In practice, the theory is simple. Everything in the deck hits with either tempo, material advantage, or both. The vast majority of the cards also double as either cheap agro, cheap control, or both. Similar idea to Death & Taxes, except not tied down to creature based, and therefore not as vulnerable to mass removal and critter hate. Should, in theory, have good matchups against control and agro builds, as there are plenty of cards that perform well against both. The highlight of the theory here is Tidehollow Sculler, who hits with control advantage and is an equip target that you can make great use of after a turn 1 discard outlet that lets you plan your turn 2 or 3 Sculler.

Other than that, there's plenty of grave hate, and some good land shenanigans that play well with Prismatic Ending.

Deck discussion for Modern Doom Patrol-Competitive

If hexproof or infect is in the meta you will need some serious luck.
Otherwise a well rounded list.

I was hoping the spear search would go a long way against hexproof, with the sac critter option from Kaya, but agreed. As for infect, I've essentially never played against it and have no knowledge of how to hate on it other than some obvious 'no' effects.

And again, I'm sort of out of the loop these days, so I'm just an enthusiastic amateur attempting to build stuff for fun.

What hates bogles can hate infect.
The spear is good, and you do have stoneforge mystic.

Infect is out there, but about as present as hexproof, so together they sit on about 1% of the meta.

It seems the spear is holding both decks back.

Back in 2018 spellskite was more or less the move, so back then they all had 3-4 artifact removal in the sb to deal with it.

I guess in 2022 all it would take would be for a smart hex/infect player to have 3-4 annul in sb :)

Regionals came by Copenhagen it seems. 400+ decks ended up on mtggoldfish.
