Deck Description

5 years and 336 days ago I started making decks on this site with the goal of getting to 1000.

2161 days, 1000 decks, comes out to about a deck every 2.1 days. which is including the year or so when I didn't build anything.

I've come an unbelievably long way since then, having been launched in magic by the idea of the card "dragonstorm". I remember seeing it for the first time and thinking something like- that card is useless, if you have 9 mana, why do you need it, you could just play a creature anyway. A few minutes later the idea hit me that you could get mana faster with spells than with lands, and suddenly the combo clicked. From there, there was no turning back. When I discovered dragonstorm, I had only been playing tabletop magic with someone else's cards and had absolutely no idea how the game works. Nowadays, I like to think I have a better idea.

There are parts of the game with which I don't agree of course. Planeswalkers. Net decking. The fact that competitive magic is essentially who has more money and net decks the right deck for this rotation.

But that being said, I love the game and have enjoyed every minute ive spent making decks and playing magic. Its been a blast.

So I will dedicate this deck to dragonstorm and anyone who has been fortunate enough, as I have been, to look at a card and wonder about the possibilities it could hold, and not stop until you find them.

As a side note, the official name of this deck is Reaching Raftel.

How to Play

here is how the deck plays.

get panoptic mirror and imprint time warp on it. then set up the rest of the combo with infinite turns.

play abyssal persecutor, and a second copy which you donate to your opponent.

then get a second panoptic mirror and imprint shahrazad on it. now at the start of your turn, you will be forced to start a shahrazad side game, and regardless of what happens in the game, at the end of your turn, you will take another turn and do it all over again.

since both you and your opponent have abyssal persecutor in play, the life you would normally lose from shahrazad is irrelevant. Both of you will keep starting new games forever. you might have to start keeping lands in your hand to discard so you have a grave to elixir of immortality off so you actually have a deck to use for the side games, but it isn't necessary for the combo.

if you really want to be mean, you can do the combo in one of your shahrazad side games, and even further remove them from being able to stop.

this deck is all about playing magic forever, and might not be legal (shahrazad isn't, so I figured the tutors were alright), but is a good way to end my quest.
