I don't know, I run a black/red vampire deck and once upon a time I had Vampire Nocturnus in there but it's just not as efficient as it would be in mono black. Ever consider swapping it out for a Necropolis Regent??

I originally had the regent in the deck but it drives the mana cost up so much, honestly by the time I would get regent out the game was over either way. I feel the same way with the Vampire Nocturnus, although when it has worked it has change the game dramatically.
Yeah I can see that. My black/red vamp runs the same way, I have occasionally gotten the Regent out and had it make a huge impact, but it is pretty rare, and usually it's game over before I even draw it let alone play it. Also Nocturnus does have the advantage of being cheaper.
