Deck Description

supposedly i look like the scraggly muppet that sings 'manamanah'. so this is a tribute to that sort of. it is also a deck inspired by a poster who requested a modern-legal stompy. :)

very nice deck :) i like the graveyard feel it has :) i absolutely LOVE vengevine so thats a plus and i think nettle sentinal is a bad a=p the one thing i'm sold on is the vastwood's, i've never liked to run more than 2 in any deck.

Also would you take a look at my stompy deck i built for you? i'm not sold on the soulgorger and would like an explanation/reassurance lol

Couldn't Lead the Stampede be of a bit more use in a three slot than Finks? I mean I love that creature and all, but it just seems like a refueling could be a bit more useful.

nice. i am a fan of stompy decks, but they all seem to have the same cards in them.

That's because those cards are good for Stompy. There's not a huge amount of good 'stompy' cards =P

i guess thats true, but then why do they have a deck type called stompy if there isnt alot of cards for that type of deck. idk, i just dont like the idea of using the same cards over and over again.

Man, I really like this deck! I'm pretty bad at building anything that doesn't run on a Sligh curve, so this is really awesome for me. The only card I'm a bit ambivalent about is Phyrexian Soulgorger, but I'll test it out anyway. It might perform much better than I'm expecting.

Perhaps George Carlin can be of some assistance?

Believe it or not, but the only things I've recognized Billy Connolly in are the Boondock Saints and Muppet Treasure Island. So I've yet to catch his stand up, I'd take it if you use his name in the same sentence as George Carlin he's great.

Seems fairly solid, though I feel like Mulch isn't that great in a Stompy deck like this where you don't have/need much land. I mean, by the time you mulch, you're probably already about curving out and just need more creatures. I get that it can dump Vengvines but it seems a bit unreliable for that purpose. I feel like Lead the Stampede would probably be better here to keep the pressure going. Just an idea.:)

Mulch also makes Dungrove, Splinterfright, and Goyf bigger.

mulch is rarely used to obtain land for my deck. just like thechurchishere said, it empowers my other beaters and also slims down my deck. :)
