Coming across Hardened Scales, I remembered there being a number of ways from the Theros block to build up +1/+1 counters quickly on a number of creatures, and then being able to use Abzan Outlast cards that give creatures with +1/+1 counters abilities, I could take small creatures and turn them into formidable opponents. Not much may be more frightening than a 20/20 Hexproof, Indestructible, Trample, First Strike cat.
The key cars that this deck revolve around are Phalanx Leader and Hardened Scales. With these, your creatures can become massive pretty quickly, as well as using things like any of the Instants, Ajani's first +1 ability, Ordeal of Nylea, or any other combination of things. You can ramp up pretty quickly. Feat of Resistance is a beautiful protection card for this deck. Imagine, suddenly your Phalanx Leader has +4/+4 and protection until the end of turn? And all of your other creatures would be able to get +2/+2. Using cards like Chronicler of Heroes, Windswept Heath, and the sacrifice ability on Ordeal of Nylea, you can clean out parts of your deck pretty effectively, leaving you with just prime material to ramp up your creatures.
