Deck Description

My girlfriend is nice enough to try and play magic. She's finally found a card type she likes... Sphinx. Only problem is she complains every time that they take too long to play. So I've decided to make the deck on here with new modifications and see what you people think. She hates kickers, doesn't understand counterspells well and likes to win. Got any suggestions?
I got Halimar Depths, Sphinx of Jwar Isle, and Ponder to help Conundrum Sphinx. I got Ornithopter, Lotus Petal and artifact lands to help the Master Transmuter... Remember, she's new and has a hard time understanding combos, it'll be hard enough to explain the Conundrum Sphinx and Master Transmuter.

Deck discussion for Knowledge of the Sphinx

Hey Boss, I got my girl into Magic recently too. She plays Green & likes it for the basic, Follow Instructions -> Pull Creatures -> Buff -> Rape concept. Hmm...

Obviously the first things that pop up are Dark Rituals, Cabal, etc. your basic Mana Boosters, throw in some Eldrazi generators, Pawn of Ulamog Vamp or whatever w/ Doubling Season, etc. All I can think of really for the mana defecit. And you know me man, I'm a sucker for Minion Reflector, she can make a double of her Sphinx for 2 mana, granted it's gone @ end of turn, but 2x the punch man. That way she feels like she's getting more Sphinx's, etc. And that one card that makes Artifacts cost less to play, I forget which one it is, unless there's more than 1 that does that & the one that makes Artifacts Indestructible, commonly found in the Stuffy decks.

I give this 8.5 stars, just because I've yet to really play w/ Sphinxs.

Hmm... something just occured to me. If you use a Minion Reflector, it says destroy @ end of turn. But if you make a copy of an Artifact creature & have the card that makes Artifacts Indestructible... does that mean you don't destroy it @ end of turn? If so, damn I think I just stumbled onto a nasty f'n loophole.

Nope, it wouldn't be destroyed, nice catch, but the Master Transmuter can put out any sphinx for one blue mana by returning a artifact land to my hand, can't get much faster than that. But thanks for the up and up.

Hey Drummer, because of that loophole; I started writin' a deck down utilizing it. I'll post it later tonight & see what ya' think. Got your email, gonna' reply here in a few.

Checked into the minion reflector idea, it won't work it says; "At the beginning of the end step, sacrifice this permanent" Sacrificing something trumps the indestructibility.

True. Damn, I quick glanced a Minion Reflector I had lyin' around while flippin' through cards. Oh well. Always hope for a card in the future that's releaded that could negate even that. ;P Good lookin' out boss. Thanks.
