I'm getting back into magic, but playing standard has been too expensive since tarmogoyf came to the scene. After that, mtg (specially standard) became too expensive for me. Standard in particular because of its rotating nature. So I decided that if I'll get back to play, I might as well do it in modern, I already have plenty of cards and most of the ones i don't are easily obtained.
So yeah, the point of this deck is to mess with their hand in the early game with duress and surgical extraction, and try to control the board with inexpensive but effective creatures like Vampire lacerator, nighthawk and Gatekeeper. Then come the swingers. Phyrexian obliterator, abyssal Persecutor and Desecration demon have means to get damage in either by sheer power (trample) or evasion (flying), presecutor has both!! then you ad lashwrithe to the ecuation and well...you get the picture. I have damnation in the maindeck in case I get swarmed (and once their cards are in the graveyard extraction will do wonders). Sadistic sacrament serves both to feed extraction and in case the game stalls i could make the opponent either top deck themselves or just take away their "winning card" before they even draw it.Hero's downfall and that sweet sweet counter make sure I can keep the board clean of both creatures and planes walkers. Or at least I make them lose 5 life, win win.All in all, is just a big, monstrous black deck that I feel has good flavor to it.The sideboard is a work in progress. I feel it would be good against slow decks that have lots of walls or creatures (but not quite aggro). I probably need something better against control but I feel that the main deck is fine for that.
