Deck Description

...but clerics do! Clerics party right- they come prepared. They aren't going home the morning after a frat party with a bad reputation and a hearty dose of the clap.

How to Play

Seriously, use protection. Mother of runes, brave the elements, story circle, and flickering ward, all durex approved.

Mayhap add the Battletide Alchemist. Automatically prevent damage based on number of clerics you control. Heliod would be good to have the ability to make even more clerics.

I love heliod in this. I originally had Battletide in the mix, but chose to get rid of him in lieu of the other 5 drops. With Heliod, however... I think you're onto something. Will sideboard both HARD for now. Thanks for the ideas!

Anytime. Glad to help.

Yes.. Just yes. How about Abuna Acolyte, Beloved Chaplain, Cathedral Sanctifier, or Devoted Caretaker? Just suggestions.

Thanks for the ideas! I feel like Devoted caretaker is the best pick of that litter, the only worry with him though is that they drop an enchantment or use an ability. Devoted is a one drop though, which is very nice to have out early on.

Fair enough. Just some other low costing suggestions for you; Ghostly Prison, Angel's Grace, Path to Exile, Swords to Plowshares and Emeria, the Sky Ruin?

Definitely great cards. I think most of these lend themselves more toward controlling opponent's game rather than protecting my own, but if they're running a heavy aggro deck these would be vital. Will sideboard a couple for sure. Thanks!

It's still protection in a sense lol. One more and I believe I'm done, Sejiri Steppe

I love your deck description! Had me laughing!

How about Eight-and-a-half tails = fox cleric

and, instead of coat of arms, how about Mirror Entity. He's a cleric, and he can boost your creatures like Coast of arms, but you don't risk boosting your opponents creatures too.

Love 8 1/2. Will have to add him, no question. Mirror entity was my only concern- while he may boost some of my guys, he can also drop my true monsters like doubtless one. Let me think on him for a bit- will sideboard him for sure (I think he would play very nicely with Heliod's ability later in the game). thanks for your thoughts!

With 8 1/2, the Theros white card to kill off white permanents becomes super useful. -- EDIT: Glare of Heresy was the card I was looking for. Had to go get the name.

Myself I would side-board Coat of Arms and Story Circle, with battle tide alchemist and mirror entity.

Does Story Circle protect from the damage from True-Name Nemesis?

Yes. Story Circle does not target True-Name Nemesis, so its damage will be prevented.

cavern of souls to prevent your clerics from being countered! also maybe the spear of heliod for an extra buff and some spot removal.

Thanks for the ideas. Didn't originially add cavern of souls since it was counterproductive with emeria, but I'm now sideboarding in case of a control deck.

I love the deck. 3 Harsh Mercy and its stellar. This will wipe the board while leaving your creatures untouched. Also, I like the eight-and-a-half tails, but its a legendary, so I would drop it to 2.
