Deck Description

'Assault formation'-decks are getting kind of popular, so why is this dck different from the rest?
Because it doesn't NEED 'Assault formation'! Sure, the card hleps but it isn't too dependant on the card, it has alternative win cons, like ashiok (getting defended by an army of fatties) and phenax (mill your opponent in 2-3 turns after having this guy on the field)

It's a deck that's build for aggro, with an emergency answer if you luck out of the right draws or if your opponent has tons of enchantment removal.

How to Play

Best case scenario of course is one of our one-drops, followed by an AF, hitting them for 4 on turn 2. this also gives room for the possibility of hitting them for 9 if they still don't have a blocker, or make the mistake of not blocking, with a 'shape the sands', following with a 'kin-tree invocation', to play a 9/9 turn three. Or if you have three 'shape the sand' you might just win right then and there.

however, things do not always go according to plan unfortunately. That's why we need back up. Our 8 win cons are:
- 4 AF
- 2 Ashiok
- 2 Phenax
Any of these eight cards can lead the deck to victory.
Combine this with the 4 'Disciples of deceit' to help tutor the AF and ashioks and the 4 kin-tree invocation that will drop huge creatures on turn 2 (4/4) or turn three 3 (6/6-11/11). The negates will help defend vs boardwipes and removal on our wincons and the 'abzan beastmaster's will make sure we will get enough carddraw to outpace the opponent's dck and draw into our wincons.

If the game drags on, just build up your army and crush your opponent with either a phenax (and mill them for 15+ at the end of their turns) or either alphastrike them with your army as soon as you can play AF, especially if you've ot a profane of the dead, which wil wpe their entire board if you exploit one of your fatties

You might be wondering, why doesn't it have any temples, or life lands or triple lands. That's because it's AGGRO, with a lot of 1-2 drops. Being able to pressure your opponent on turn 2 with a '4'/4 differs a lot from pressuring them with a '4'/4 on turn 3. that's why I prefer pain lands over taplands, because it's beter to lose one life if it means your opponent loses an extra 4.

I have been thinking about adding either trample or lifelink, but haven't found any suitable cards yet. Nylea is too slow and won't become a creature, and whip gives lifelink, but is useless without AF.
I have also experimented with silumgars, tasigur and sidisis, but they only slow the deck down and do not compute well with the late game of this deck.
