Deck Description

Ideally what this deck does is load up your graveyard with sorceries that either control your opponent or help you get through your deck. In most situations, your opponent will be playing a few sorceries as well to help our cause. Now, (with the help of a few friends such as monastery swiftspear, enigma drake, and stormchaser mage) we can execute our cause... casting a huge Magnivore!! And it has haste (little smiley-devil emoji).

Deck discussion for Grixis Magnivore

A better card for this deck than magnivore is enigma drake at 1BR that is always at 4 toughness and gets a higher power equal to the instant and sorceries in your graveyard also land destruction is Only good in a deck devoted to it

I made a few edits. Magnivore is the main idea of this deck. Smallpox works in the deck only if I don't have just one creature out so I limited those. Enigma drake would be good in here as another creature that follows magnivore and has flying, so thank you for that idea. How ever it only uses my own graveyard instead of all players like magnivore. Magnivore, more often than not, will be bigger than a 4/4 when entering the battlefield.

I think a good idea would be too actually cut the Monastery Swiftspear to play a full set of Enigma Drakes and another Stormchaser Mage. This way all of your creatures can survive Anger Of The Gods, or possibly even just Sweltering Suns for situations where a wrath isn`t useful, but an extra card might.

If you want to play Smallpox, I would have to recommend pairing it with Young Pyromancer, as he will give you a steady supply of tokens to sacrifice to it so you don`t lose more valuable threats.

And if your creatures are large enough, I would think that having 4 Stubborn Denials would be better then the split between them and Mana Leak.

Another Large creature you could consider is also Cryptic Serpent, which would be big enough for Denial and synergize with the graveyard spells theme.

Cutting the monastery swiftspear from the deck might actually slow it down a bit. They are a great way to start hitting making it easier for magnivore to enter the battlefield for the kill. They are also a good creature to sack for smallpox if I need to.

Smallpox is also in there as removal for my opponents creatures. I took out two of them already because I can't afford to loose my other creatures. It's also a card that deals damage. One point can make or break games.

I would like to run mor enigma drakes because I think it is a great card for this deck. However, in the sideboardbthere are two spellheart chimera which is the same thing with 3 toughness instead of 4 and trample for the flying match up such as lingering souls.

Young pyromancerbi think would slow down the deck too. It would make it more creature heavy and take always some of the control that it already has.

Last thing, thanks for pointing out cryptic serpent. I think that would be a great card to add but I think the same would happen with young puromancer. But I'm not sure. I'll keep that in consideration for future edits!

I love it! I have a similar deck utilizing Magnivore, but I think your creature hate and creature base is stronger. I focus on aggressive self milling and using Locket of Yesterday and Rise from the Tides as my alternate win-con.

Maybe look at the Aftermath cards to get some instant speed spells in there, while still focusing the Magnivore synergy.
