Deck Description

Artifact toolbox control deck. Trinket Mage into a number of answers to your opponents such as grafdiggers or relic against graveyard decks, into a citadel or a mox opal if you need mana, pithing needle to handle planeswalkeres, etc. Engineered explosives to keep blowing problematic stuff up. The deck incorporates both watery grave and breeding pool for the sunburst, however, you almost never find yourself needing it for 5. I may swap out the watery grave for a hallowed fountain to make the wear // tear in the sideboard more playable (considering I don't have fetch lands).

Expedition map / Academy Ruins lets you set up your land base in a slow game.

Obviously Tezzeret is Trinket Mage just now you can hit your more expensive artifacts and its reusable. Ensnaring bridge to prevent attacks, vedalken shackles to steal creatures, etc.

Sideboard in blood moon for really greedy decks. The deck can function with its dual lands turned mountain. Crucible of Worlds + Tectonic Edge for problem lands (if you have fetchlands, specifically misty rainforest and scalding tarn, lower your steam vent and breeding pool count, get those in, and crucible works even better). Trinisphere to slow down opponents and torpor orb can really mess with people.

The deck can win in a variety of ways. Tezzeret Ulting, or just keeping the game in lockdown and constantly swinging the pyrite bomb every turn with academy ruin recurssion.

There are multiple other options. Vendilion Clique is a great MB option. Firespout works well instead of pyroclasm (if your willing to risk double non-blue costs, supreme verdict / day of judgement, but you'll have to move the land base a bit). I like having double ensnaring bridge in case one is destroyed and my personal preference has leaned towards using 2 pithing needle, but only 1 is actually needed.

Ghost Quarter may be a good option as opposed to tectonic edge.
