Card confusion

Cho-Manno's Blessing and Pariah

So, I'm confused. If my opponent puts protection of red on a creature, but doesn't block me, and has the enchant, and I hit him.

Does that mean my cards would never be able to damage the opponent as long as they're red?

Or is the damage reverted from player to card not considered red? because that seems like a total lock out to mono color

if all damage is redirected from a red source to a creature with protection from red no damage is dealt.

Playing mono colored decks has it's downsides. The only real reason you would want to play mono colored is speed. If you build a mono red deck that kills in 3 to 5 turns (as mono red decks should) let your opponent play all the cute stuff he wants, he won't be able to race you most of the time.

There's ton of stuff you can do against a pariah lock though, even if you play mono red. You could for instance play Nevinyrral's Disk or oblivion stone to sweep the board.

Makes you understand why some people HATE Painter's Servant, doesn't it?

Depending on how casual you play, Ghostfire isn't bad to use for pro-red creatures.
