With Born of the Gods now standard legal, I wanted to see if I could find some synergies between Mogis, God of Slaughter & Rakdos, Lord of Riots.
The board state must be strongly dominated early & often so that i can make Mogis, God of Slaughter active. My sideboard is experimental but I would like to make this extremely competitive for tournament play.

tormented hero may not be the best bet for a 1 drop in this deck, after all, you only have 4 things in the entire deck to activate that heroic and he comes into play tapped
Yeah, ive been going back & forth with Rakdos Cackler & Tormented Hero as my 1 drop. Eventually, im going to have to go with 1 of them soon. Thank you for the responses & views!
hey no problem, I've been tinkering with a similar deck idea (although not for standard :P) love the mogis/rakdos combo!
Purpheros, erebos and a few enchantments that add to devotion. otherwise solid.
Take out doom blade and add in Dreadbore. Doom blade is pretty much useless in the current Meta right now. Tormented Hero is a good 1-drop that adds a bit to your devotion
I would try to fit a purphoros into the mainboard. Ive found it to be a huge win con in my rakds agro deck.
Some suggestions to make Xathrid more useful in here:Ash Zealot (two devotion, maybe more of a sideboard card)Gore-House Chainwalker (cheaper than Splatter Thug, no first strike though)As commented before, Phurphoros mainboard would really be strong since you have so many creatures.
I'd use Thrill-Kill Assassin instead of Gore-House Chain Walker, Pretty Much the same CMC but she has deathtouch also.
I think you should maybe replace those splatter thugs with xathrid necromancer. Then also add in tormented hero because hes a human, not because of his heroic. Its great because if they have a board wipe you get zombies and Mogis is ticking them for 2 damage. Another suggestion, I think underworld connections and gift of orzhova are a bit out of place. Another madcap skills and some ghor-house chainwalkers (also a human card) like Neoxtreem suggested would be great! Love the idea, it can be competitive for sure.
Im really shocked (no pun intended) by the feedback & the suggestions from everyone! You guys here at mtgvault are sooo helpful and friendly, unlike Reddit and other sites.Friday I shall be getting some Xathrid Necromancers & changing things around plus, ill let you all know how I did at FNM.AGAIN, thank you all for the help! Ok so since Exeva is a Legendary and you have three i would maybe drop one and add a purphoros <-- dont know how to spell his name but you get it. because exeva and chainwalkers are the only cards with unleash so she isnt in there for much and purphoros could win you the game a lot faster just my suggestion I like the deck im looking into building a Rakdos so just taking some ideas from yours and also making my suggestions so thank you((:
