I think Maelstrom Pulse can be replaced. There are better kill spells in mono black that are cheaper and instants instead of sorcereries.

I completely agree. The only reason its in the deck is for the fact it can target ANYTHING. All back kills are limited. I know the sorcery speed isn't good but its upside is outweighed by that. If i can have two vindicates I would, this is the closest thing to it. Plus it kills tokens.
