Deck Description

This deck was inspired by a love for Golem's and Artifacts. It is a modern brew for super budget lists that are $50 or less. I really like how it came out, but will be testing it and checking for any anti-synergy and reliability. So far, the deck runs well and might need the artifact count upped to make Golem Foundry more reliable.

EDIT 1:
-2 Fabricate
-1 Island
+3 Power Conduit

EDIT 2:
-3 Mana Leak
-2 Foundry Inspector
-1 Thoughtcast
+3 Etherium Sculptor
+3 Remand

EDIT 3:
-1 Contagion Engine
+1 Etherium Sculptor
SB -3 Welding Jar
SB +3 Wipe Away

How to Play

The deck is slow, so you want a Mana Leak in hand on the first few turns. Turn 1 Surge Node, and getting down an Energy Chamber T2 usually starts the engine. The creatures either proliferate or give value to the already place counters on other artifacts. The 1 of Contagion gives a late game play + Mana sink for even more Golem's. The other 1 of is Voltaic Key which can be used as just a value play to get more uses out of overstocked Lux Cannon's, Titan Forge's, and Surge Nodes. As for the Instant and Sorceries, it's a mix of a few countermagic and card draw. The Steady Progress is key because of the Proliferate that comes along with it. Thoughtcast is just a solid value draw 2 because there will always be a few artifacts laying around. The Fabricate is a little clunky due to the 3 drop slot being clogged up, so I have 2 thus far. Drawing one late is usually good to get that one Contagion Engine or just a Lux Cannon to remove some pesky permanents. Lands, straight forward 18 island and 4 Citadel. In fact, the Citadel are more useful than it seems because of the fact it is an Artifact to lower the cost of a Thoughtcast. Also, it can be used to place an energy counter. Does that matter? No, but it is kind of neat... I guess...

Deck discussion for Mono U Proliferate (Modern)

I positively love this deck!! Oh, my god! This is just so cool, I'd have never thought to make a deck like this. When I see this deck the first thing I think is Darksteel Reactor, but I'm not sure how efficient that card is in tandem with this deck. It would be cool to see though. I also definitely see what you mean about being a slow deck. The countermagic will help a lot, but it's still a bit worrysome. Personally, I might drop the fabricate because you have so many artifact pieces and none of them are absolutely necessary, I feel like it's a bit of a waste of mana for a deck that needs to be as fast as it can. With all of the Titan Forges, Lux Canons, and Golem Foundries, I feel like you won't need to search one out, pluss the draw power of thoughtcast. I might try adding a bit more countermagic if I were you, personally I love "Swan Song" and especially "Spell Pierce", which I view as a more competitive Mana Leak considering how fast modern can be, and the way that spell pierce might allow you to do something early AND leave up mana for countermagic. Anyways, again, I positively adore the deck, it's just so unique!!

In all honestly, I forgot Darksteel Reactor was a card! I might try it as a 1 of next to Contagion Engine, but it might just be too slow. Then again, if I do cut the Fabricate and 1 Mana Leak then I might have room for it. Swan Song might be better in the SB as a 1 or 2 of, but Spell Pierce could work over leak. I will have to test all of this. Thank you for the input!

"Etherium Sculptor" would be a faster version of "Foundry Inspector".
"Chalice of the Void" can be a pain in the ass for your opponent. My own deck uses "Power Conduit" to move counters around so that it doesn't hinder my play.
"Master of Etherium" would be another strong creature that could serve as finisher.

Greetings

I like the Etherium Sculptor and Power Conduit. Would be willing to try those, but the Master of Etherium would put my deck over $40 sadly. Thanks for the input!

I only own 1 Etherium Sculptor sadly. Going to purchase 2 when I need to order more cards from TCGPlayer. I have added the Power Conduit. So far, deck seems much more smooth!
