Deck discussion for Abzan Walkers

Looking really good. I'm just wondering where's all the removal.
Otherwise worth of +1 like.

Do you think in the lines of go for the throat and mortify?
I would run liliana vess so you can get some control going with the discard, and most importantly search for the right card (chain veil and ajani, then garruk, vraska, or other walkers)
Also, when fate reforged comes out, ugin should be good for his ultimate in here

Yes when Ugin comes out he's going into this deck as soon as I get him.

I rearanged A LOT here, added some removal per Northy's suggestion and mortify per Barracuda's. I added my own personal flavor with the vampire nighthawk, he's one of my all time favorites. I removed some of my mana fixing/ramp, let me know if you think I've done too much though.

Bear in mind that I want this to be for groups of 3 or more, I neglected to mention this earlier and that was my mistake, I believe this current form should be appropriate for my intent.

Id need to playtest this but it seems a little slow for me. Birds of paradise would really speed you up if you can afford a playset.
Also your removal is a little mana expensive. Try doomblade or path to exile if you have.

I would think it would be nice for the speed of the deck

I could also make good use of that one to protect the planeswalkers being that they're the main force in this deck..another option I found was loxodon gatekeeper to outright slow them down, I'm just worried that's too big of a target

Indomitable ancients may work as well with the buffs from ajani and sorin

I prefer the wall to indomitable ancients, but with all the stall with loxodon (tapping the lands) I feel would help your Planeswalkers better, so I would go with that :)

Seen you trying to go the junk Super Buddy,. And 2Twilight Mire,2 Wooded Bastion , 2Fetid Heath
I can see POD deck be a nasty thing for you so run in SB Hushwing Gryff and I would Take out Ajani Steadfast and run Ajani, Mentor of Heroes

Those are some pretty serious lands man, wish I would have found those sooner! They're going in NOW.
I like mentor of heroes but steadfast helps out a ton with my creatures, 3/4 first strike vigilant flying deathtouch lifelink vampire nighthawk is just too good, also doing the same to seraph of the sword is big. Steadfast's -2 is what I'm really after though, it's one of the biggest moves in this deck and people don't realize it...and when they do its far too late.
Once I had Steadfast, Garruk, and Liliana out, proliferated with contagion clasp, used Steadfast's -2, Garruk's -6 to drop 9 6/6 wurms which were buffed thanks to Sorin's -2 for a permanent +1/+0 making them all 7/6 and then Liliana's -8 to bring back all creatures at once and took out the 4 other players. (spent 4 mana for that)
Still, absolutely putting mentor of heroes in SB along with Hushwing Gryff.
Thanks!!

turbo fog????? oh man that is my deck. isochron scepter and abrupt decay seem good here

Haha I'm glad to hear you like it, it plays so much faster than it looks. I've had three planeswalkers out on turn 5 and people just don't know how to handle it. The combos are insane too, I've had a sylvan caryatid that was a 5/6 with first strike vigilance and lifelink protecting me every turn thanks to Sorin and Ajani because I had no other choice lol

I LOVE Isochron scepter. I wanted it to fit in here so badly but I just don't have the right amount of instants to make that useful enough. If you're a really big fan of decks that abuse Iso check out my Venser deck, it abuses the crap out of it.

I'm not sure exactly what to think, it is interesting. I think it is a little hard to comment on because of how unique this deck would be to modern.

A few things though:
I would try to start collecting some of the more expensive lands: Verdant Catacombs, Windswept Heath, Marsh Flats, Godless Shrine, Overgrown Tomb, Temple Garden, to name a few at least.

Birds of Paradise would probably be better than Chromatic Lantern in terms of being able to ramp up. With a 3cmc "ramp" like Lantern you are looking forwards to 5+ cmc instead of 3-4cmc which would be better.

Cut 6 cards keeping 22 land at least and 3-4x Rampant Growth (Farseek once you get the Shocklands -Shrine, Temple, Tomb-)

You never want to play above or below 60 cards in your deck (unless you are playing EDH).

Think about and explain the synergy in the deck. A pile of planeswalkers isn't going to win you the game without have a reason for each and an idea of what you are trying to pull off with them. (Example Garruk Wildspeaker and Lingering Souls-- T3: Play Lingering Souls; T4: Play Garruk Wildspeaker use his +1 to untap 2 lands, flashback Souls; T5: Use Garruk's ultimate giving each of the 4 souls +3/+3 and trample. This would be an attack for 16 in the air with just a few token creatures)

5 hard CMC (aka something without Convoke or Delve) is pushing it a little bit in a tempo/midrange deck like Junk (Abzan). Sure some decks play higher but it is usually either Pod decks (no longer), Tron (mana ramping), True Control (counter and kill until late game where 1 Fat Fatty drops on the board), or Grave-abuse (Unburial Gifts; Gifts Ungiving a Unburial Rites and either Iona or Elesh Norn into grave, 4 mana into Rites flashback get out a big 7-8cmc monster onto the field that almost wins outright)

So much to take innnn hahaha well for starters I like all those suggestions tremendously. Uhhh gonna have to read over this one quite a few times and digest the feedback but I truly appreciate it a lot!
I know this deck needs adjusting somehow...but I've played it enough now that I just like the way it feels, it's rather difficult to explain but it really doesn't play slow or have any sort of hold up with mana or creatures or possible plays...I think it's due to the nature of this color combo that gives room to so many possibilities that made me want to make a deck with "infinite" possibilities.
I think that for now this deck is almost complete. I don't really use it for competitive play, I have a good sized group of friends at the local shop and we make decks specifically for big groups and this one just does it.
I'm glad to hear you like it, especially so since you have so many thoughts for me!

hey @granflux if possible could you take a look at both my abzan decks, my original midrange build and my new aggro build?, could use your great help again. let me know what you think. id really appreciate it very much thanks. also i built your abzan walker deck it rocks love it. so much fun to play. def +10 on it if i could. the only thing i did is ran 3 passages instead of one and used duel lands but other then that i used the same list, just runs awesome .

Hahaha oh man! That's awesome! Did you make it like I had -chromatic lantern -skinshifter +sylvan caryatid? Or this update?

I've found that this version is only a little slower...but it gets a lot less hate towards the Walkers since oponents now have to worry about skinshifter, who can "shift" on any turn at all as long as I have mana, and that's where chromatic fixes all mana problems on turn 3 if I'm lucky..but this deck has no problem getting up and going as you know haha

...if you could give me some thoughts on a deck I'm trying to finish up I'd greatly appreciate it.

i think you should maybe run the new sorin yo he would work well also. and i would run maybe shock duels with lilina of the dark realms she can fetch swamps for you like yo need a overgrown tomb she can fetch it its swamp/forest and it goes in your hand still have to shock it but it works her second ability is great to and the ult gives u 4 swamps for tapping one its great i believe it works with shock lands cause its a swamp itself . she is really underrated she's good has great potential in the correct deck with the right mana base give her a try. and i built it the way you have it posted. love it

I do like Solemn visitor a lot, but I feel like Lord of Innistrad is a better fit for this deck because he can pump out the 1/1 lifelink vamps over and over, his -2 gives a permanent +1/+0 for the whole game every time its used, and his ultimate is the most fun ultimate I've ever used haha but Solemn Visitor definitely has a place in the SB as with Liliana of the Dark Realms. Unless I get her in the opening hand and can use her on turn 4 to start with lands she kinda tapers out in mid to late game.
I agree that she's underrated especially so when you use her -3 and you happen to have a lot of swamps out. Liliana Vess has always been my favorite Liliana though, shes Ravenous Rats meets Demonic Tutor and then Rise of the Dark Realms. I really only use her to grab other planeswalkers though, but when I have steadfast out with chain veil and contagion clasp her ultimate is very very easy to pull off...
AAAAAAAANd I know I need shock lands terribly, but I never got lucky enough to open very many of those so I rely on the vivid lands from Lorwyn/Shadowmoor, plus I can put more charge counters on them with contagion clasp which I know isn't very useful by the time clasp can get out and working, but it's cool haha

Don't know if suggested already but Doubling Season would be good here since it makes your planeswalkers enter the battlefield with double amount of loyalty counters which means you can immediately ulti all of em in your deck as soon as they hit the board. But would make things too easy probably and defeat the purpose of other cards helping building loyalty counters up.. :P

How I missed your comment before, I do not know. Sorry. Thanks for that suggestion man!! I already put it in, it was a card I was looking at before in my other version of this deck; --> http://www.mtgvault.com/granflux/decks/constant-assault-junk/

It definitely has a place in the SB for now, until I find a way to fit it in it'll stay there. Perhaps eventually we'll get new versions of my 5 mana planeswalkers which will do nicely as replacements, but I tend to favor towards a pretty mana curve over anything else. Maybe I'll stack up on specific planeswalkers after more testing in order to make room, but as of yet I haven't played enough games yet to decide such. But thank you very much for reminding me of a BRUTAL way to play this deck hahaha
