Deck Description

I've been all over the place lately with my deckbuilding, and as soon as Illuna was spoiled I immediately wanted her to be my Temur commander. Each of my friends has their own Temur lists that are really individualized, and I have been wanting to build my own original Temur list for several years. At first I started with Illuna combo, where there were only 2 or 3 non land permanents in the list and they were combo pieces that I could hit with one or two Mutations. But that kind of list was difficult to fill out and not very interesting. Then I realized something amazing, Illuna takes on the text box of whatever creature she Mutates with AND can Mutate beneath whatever she targets. What this means is now Blightsteel Colossus and Imperial Greatwurm and even Glistener Elf or Blight Mamba can turn her into a MASSIVE pain in the ass. In fact, when testing the list it looks like you can regularly one shot opponents in several ways with commander damage or infect damage. The fun of this list is that it really utilizes both the commander and the deck itself with super awesome and splashy cards. I really loved building this list, and I hope it works well for anyone willing to give it a shot!

How to Play

So I still have tweaks to make on this list because I couldn't fit everything in it that I thought would be worthwhile, but that's what the sideboard section is for. At this time, your goal is to win through combat damage or by Mutating Illuna on top of a Pestermite and hitting a Kiki-Jiki (excellent time for a Worldly Tutor I might add). Generally, the goal is to power up Illuna by Mutating her into large creatures with powerful abilities like Hexproof, Indestructible, Infect, Regenerate, and Unblockable. Although you can only pick one ability to Mutate into at a time, you can pick whichever is the most useful to adapt to different situations within the boardstate. Creating massive boardstates is also relatively easy with Mutations like Giant Adephage, Progenitor Mimic, and Quartzwood Crasher. Really, almost every game is going to end differently with this list, and that is seriously a part of the fun. Just spit out a couple of early creatures, Mutate onto whichever suits your needs, then as you gain free permanents and need to recast Illuna go ahead and Mutate into your late game creatures to take out your opponents in single combat.
