October 9, 2015 - ModernPillow Mine--------------------------What is this deck: A different take on the Pillow Fort archetype.What does it do:Makes both players draw lots of cards, and keeps you safe with the abundance of enchantments you have. How does it win:Mill your opponent via drawing cards. Forced Fruition makes an opponent draw seven cards upon ever spells cast. This can be brutal if you can cast it on time. Howling Mine increases 'mill' by making both players draw extra cards. If the mill plan doesn't work, we resort to a beatdown strategy via Luminarch Ascension, Sigil of the Empty Throne, or Celestial Colonade. Known pitfalls and comments:If your opponent main decks or sideboards in enchantment hate, you're gonna have a rough time until you have Leyline of Sanctity in your deck. Even then its still a rough match up.As of typing this, I have no idea how this deck is supposed to beat any form of Tron. Seems like a really terrible matchup that this deck will never win. Currently trying to brainstorm what can be done to improve it.The inclusion of Howling Mine is because it is one of my favorite cards. Unfortunately it is a lackluster card at the end of the day because you're giving your opponent an advantage by drawing more cards too. Really have to bank on our enchantments / defense package is going to be better than their spells.I have considered trying to find a way to incorporate Underworld Dreams, however I was never fond of the card.Sideboard probably needs to be adjusted for the meta that you play. Rest in Peace, Greater Auramancy, Nevermore, Rule of Law are probably fine choices.
