Deck Description

This is not meant to be a total overkill deck but more of a chill-with-your-friends-but-still-pack-a-little-punch kinda deck. It makes use of cards like Necropotence, more for the fun gameplay, than the tactical use it can give a deck. There are no tendrils, and it's not really meant to be able to kill an opponent in one turn, as that would be badass, but become a bit tedious and boring. These cards are all dear to me and I have had tons of fun gameplay with these cards, especially the always nostalgic hippies. Meaning this deck is mostly build of the cards I have always had (except a few newly acquired cards). But by all means! Feel free to judge, critique and rate the deck! I would love to hear suggestions of better alternatives or some smart cards with top notch synergy! But remember, the deck is not for competitive play of any kind. Besides that, if i remember correctly, several of these cards are banned anyway. But I would love feedback!

Please pardon any grammatical errors or spelling mistakes, as English is not my native language.

How to Play

The main idea is that the deck should at least try to be kinda cheap so cards shouldn't be that far away from start, to being played. So nothing like 10000BBBBBBB something something cards, but rather cards that runs in a weightclass of 1-4 mana, or at least close to. The deck wanna build up with several enchantments like Bloodchief Ascension and Liliana's Caress to give the discard a little more bite. Always-annoying-but-cheap-and-chaotic Hymn to Tourach gives me a rather cheap random discard, while Despise is more used to handpick annoying monsters from my opponents early on (a little pre-field control i guess you could call it?). Doomblade and pox also gives a little field control so I can (hopefully) avoid getting crushed by red aggro decks and whatnot. Cards like Liliana's Caress, Geralf, Sign in Blood and The Rack can help me trigger the Bloodchief and that card becomes rather annoying when it becomes 3+. Even the hippies can deal a damage of 2, so they can potentially trigger the Bloodchief (same with all the creatures I guess). The bloodchief (+ebony towers) can also give me much needed life, which the necropotence can require. The necropotence is fun in a first turn with dark ritual and a swamp, meaning early card advantage. Now, the necropotence could be used in a synergy move with Skirge familiar, to discard for a whole lot of mana and then, perhaps fuel a drain life to get all the life back + deal quite a punch of damage I would imagine. But the deck doesn't focus to much on any given combo/card synergy, but has at least some kind of red thread going through the theme of the deck. Basically, I want a lot of cards, but you should get noone. The Sign in Blood can both be used for card advantage for me, or to force my opponent to draw and then discard. The "target player loses 2 life" effect of Sign in Blood could technically also trigger the Bloodchief.

Now an obvious weakness, would be the amount of discard effects and the huge focus on discard effects, as they become useless once a player has an empty hand or his/her cards are on the field, ready to come at me with full force. The deck got a little field control (doomblade, smallpox) and even a weird way of keeping opponent creatures in check with Vengeful Pharaoh. But still, in a 1-vs-1, against an opponent with a proper deck, I would propably regret the excessive amounts of discard spells.
Now the reason I have chosen to keep this many discard spells regardless, is simply because I usually play with a lot of people, meaning I can discard left and right. But feel free to come with suggestions!

MtgVault, please pimp my deck.
