Deck Description

Yes, this is technically V2 of the Grixis Control Deck, "I Don't Like your Everything". You may check out the previous version with this link here:

I have decided to change some ideas and how the deck plays a little. I tried to follow as much suggestions as possible and I want to thank all of you who have commented before. I can't believe that was the 2nd deck I made that hit the hot page (first being the deck, "NO LANDS!?!?!?").

There was a suggestion for Quicken. It was a decent idea, though I still felt it was too gimmicky.

Yeah, yeah, I know. No Thoughtseize as well. Well if I ever want this deck (the deck price is a lot cheaper than the previous one), then just MAYBE I can work on this in real life, assuming I can run with my current Standard deck with Selesnya (which doesn't have any Voice of Resurgances). Thoughtseize is expensive is the point.

Syncopate seemed like a good idea, so I added 4 to get in a common 2-turn lead to counter their 2-mana cost spells on turn 2.

Turn // Burn and Mizzium Mortars was a nice suggestion. Credit to WombleJim for bringing it up as well as magicmaster13.

Now there's no more Jace, Architect of Thought. Instead, there's 4 Ashiok in the mainboard. Now you're probably going to disagree with this change, but for me it works fine. I'll explain it in the "How to Play" Section.

Steam Augury also seemed gimmicky.

Crypt incursion is a nice SB card for whenever I use Jace, Memory Adept out of my SB, so that helped a little.

I've never ran any Pithing needles in a SB before, so I thought using 4 would be nice because they only cost 1 mana and they can kill almost anything your opponent might have, so turn-1 setup.

So again, I'd like to thank all of you for the suggestions for the Grixis Control.

How to Play

It's Control, again.

Although this time, it's barely different. You're still using some creatures like Desecration Demon and Stormbreath Dragon to deal damage to the very end of the game. Before all that, you could get a 2-turn removal spell (like Syncopate, Dreadbore, Doom Blade, etc.). On turn 3, you can get an Ashiok out and begin milling for the opponent to gain disadvantage while you kill everything else your opponent plays in the hand (mostly creatures). So eventually you'll get rid of your opponent's cards from the deck and almost anything they play in the hand will be gone. Maybe he's playing an aggro deck, so you play Anger of the Gods :)

From that point on, it's plus-ing the Ashiok you have and eventually a Desecration Demon / Stormbreath Dragon / both to finish he job. I'm sorry, there is no Jace, Archiect of Thought in here. Even though he's great in Control, I think I have enough removal to defend myself from aggro / midrange decks, and Jace's Ultimate is a little hard to get off.

Please like and comment! Suggestions always allowed! :)

Why Temple of Triumph, with no white in the deck?

I'd thought I needed more scry in the deck since there's not a lot that costs 1 mana.

I don't think that you really need much scry in here
