Deck discussion for Golgari [Old-Standard]

With crypt ghast and nykthos in the main deck, mistcutter hydra has major sideboard potential to deal with control and mono blue.

Thank you, are there any other suggestions? I want this to actually succeed in a tournament. I most likely will not be playing this tonight, after all I do not own half of this deck but I will be working on it for next week hopefully.

Well first I wanna say I love the 3 golgari charms main deck, they're so good in the current meta. Beyond that, I'd sooner play read the bones over altars reap and sign in blood, and 2 more underworld connections over dark prophecy. Probably another gray merchant over sanguine bond too. Lastly, I'm not too sure bow of nylea is too good in this build. Whip of erebos is probably better. :)

What I was trying to build was a Standard Deck built around Jarad. Not sure how this is working out so far. It honestly looks more like a Black Devotion deck than a Golgari deck built around Jarad.

If you want to build around jarad, use your graveyard more. Commune with the gods, grisly salvage, whip of erebos, nighthowler, and deathrite shaman is probably the way to go. Beyond that, maybe shadowborn demon, varolz, nemesis of mortals, deadbridge chant, etc.

I liked some of the cards. What do you think of the deck now?

Much better for a jarad deck. I'd drop the nightveils for 2 more nighthowlers, another commune and another salvage.

Have you considered 4 Bile Blight?
it is an excellenct removal because it's a great threat against the creature that wins most matches in itself; Pack rat.

Also i'd remove Read the Bones completely from the list and run 4 Underworld Connections to maximize the card advantage you can make, it draws cards and the opponent need to remove it to keep up with you.
