Ok really now ive seen alot of decks last on the top decks for around, oh say, 1 day at the max. Really guys? If a deck is so good why doesnt it stay up there? Im starting to realize people arent ACTUALLY criticizing decks, theyre just giving people 0's so that way their decks will be higher on the chart. Honestly? people are downing a deck that others thought were superior to theirs just so their deck will be at a higher spot, only to be downed later by a person doing the same thing THEY did to get to the top MTG Vault is designed to help out players old and new to post decks and to share ideas with other players to improve their game. By downing decks your ruining the purpose of MTG Vault, so please just GTFO... your not helping anyone... just leave Vote up if your like me and had a deck go from 7+ to 4 or lower because someone decided they wanted theirs to be higher I mean honestly, no one likes someone who cant admit that their deck isnt as good as others think it is. Just dont be a jerk about it. If your mature enough to play magic and use the internet you should at least be mature enough to stop this nonsense -_-

I had this idea also, the only problem is it would just be a list of the fake/multi account cheaters and unfortunately they don't care who can see those accounts anyway...

I am behind you 100%. Here's 10 ponts for the post to keep up on top. Sorry to everyone for not posting or viewing decks but I have retired from the games for quite sometime now. I only enter this site rarely now so I'm looking for a way to let people post me their questions or requests. Any ideas how I could do this to keep helping?

At least you had the balls to comment, most of the time decks are voted down without any explanation. I see you cut out the middle man and immediately started attacking Irrelevant as a person, not just their deck. I dig the baby comment. Obviously Irrelevant is an infant looking for the means to 'feel good' about himself or herself. Nice job with the girlfriend jab too, I think you really got 'em good there! (Assuming of course that you know Irrelevant in person and that he or she doesn't have a girlfriend.) Joking aside, you missed the point of this post. The vote mechanic on the site is flawed, as you indirectly stated yourself. If your score means nothing then what's the point of even having a vote system? And if that's true, why'd you even waste your time to vote zero? Yes, the comments are what matters. The problem is that comments hardly ever happen and certain people on this site vote decks down without leaving any advice or constructive criticism. So hang in there, champ. Don't post the name-calling and chastising personal remarks on here anymore. (It's a bit immature and tends to make one look like a fool.)
Thank you Xander for saying that in my absence. Yes, this wasnt me ranting that my deck deserves to be on the top (which frankly half the decks on here are beter than mine. I have no problem admitting it) Im just tired of people downing a deck without providing a reson. Honestly if my deck was at a 2 i wouldnt care, but i at least deserve a reason WHY it was a 2. The voting mechanic needs to be tweaked at least to make people comment before rating. I dont really care if i even get to knoiw who voted me low i just want to know that they took he time to point out the flaws in my deck And he obviously does not know me as a person seeing as calling someone who cant even buy cigarettes an infant really means alot :p im just a kid who enjosys playing magic and LEARNING, not watching a deck be called crap without any comments on why. Irrelevant, don't take any notice of bman0761 he/she is not a person who cares for the community which is Magic the Gathering. I only wish I could help everyone but I am limited and so are the creators of this site (not saying they didn't do a brilliant job). We should just do our best to lead by example so that others may do the same.

It saddens my heart so to see some of the changes that have happened in the short year ive been a part of Mtg vault (Not development wise, Ian and Gary did amazing on the updates =D its some of the members i have a wee bit of a problem with)

Unfortunately it seems we've failed to fix this issue twice now and despite our best efforts to solve the problem we still have users that are abusing the system. We've found it difficult to implement a voting system where other users can directly gain from other's losses. Voting systems on shops or movie/game review sites have it easy because people will give a true vote based on how they feel about the product/movie/game and they have no incentive to vote outside of these feelings. On Vault we have given people a prize for being voted higher than other people and inevitably whenever there is competition there will be cheaters that will ruin it for everybody. We're looking into this (AGAIN) and seeing if we can come up with something to fix this once and for all. All I can do is apologise to the non-cheaters and urge you to continue using the site in a mature and productive way; win with honour!
I applaude your efforts and on behalf of all the others would like to express that we are with you 100%.

Not sure how well it will work, but maybe it would be best to get rid of the top-rated decks on the front page and instead have it post random decks from the mtgvault database. That might help alleviate the desire to vote decks down based on reasons other than actual deck quality.
There used to be a reandom deck part on the front page but it got replaced with the random deck buttong on the side part. I think the rating part and top decks aare good but the means by which peopl can attain the status is what bugs me.
10/10 duh!!! maybe if you had ratings not be affected until after reaching a certain number of votes somehow, it would work. i realized with my pikachu deck when it was up was impossible to get down eventually because their were SOOOO many votes that anyone trying to knock it down would have problem trying to change the number. idk. ill be thinking about this some more. i think there should also be a reward system for good comments and suggestions. like if you someone leaves you some good advice, you + their "rep" or something. im on a forum that does that for good posts, it might work here as well. cept we could call it something cheesier like "honor glory mana awesomeness"
Right there with you... We were thinking maybe we could use this "rep" to weight the votes somehow also, the better the user, the more their vote is worth in the grand scheme of things. This would stop multi-accounts because their votes would be worth very little compared to proper accounts that would've picked up rep along their longer lives. Just an idea at the moment. :)

Speaking of top decks 10/10 You should have BFM attack anyone who downs without comment.
I don't know about anyone else, but if I see a good deck I fight to keep it in the Top Deck section. Second to last is R/W defender. Look at it. It's ingenious! I didn't make it, but I support it 100% and wish I had the cards to make it. But everyone has to be a immature batch and down to support their own decks.

The answer to this issue is acctually quite simple. A DECK DOESN'T GET POSTED ON THE FRONT PAGE UNLESS IT HAS 100 VOTES OR MORE!!!!! Problem solved. Then the childish people's 0 vote doesn't matter. Also I think your biggest problem is to find an answer to multiple accounts, but if you found an answer to that you'd be god-like, lmao.

Here's the solution: Make it to where the Comment box has to have something in it for the vote to apply. (ie. Vote & Comment necessary). Then you could weed out the spam voters easily and keep the constructive criticism. Anywho...

I would suggest more lands for the mana curve here, and if you really wanna make this deck tournament worthy I would sneak in a playset of cheaty face's to get a quick creature on the field :D
