Deck Description

Hello!

This is a control deck trying to abuse elite arcanist but with a variety of win conditions and a huge control focus.

This is a deck for post-rotation, feedback highly welcome!

Right now the sideboard is just other potential cards for the deck so don't worry about that.

I'm looking for suggestions for this deck so please feel encouraged to do so.

It's called no fun white blue because playing against it isn't going to be fun. particularly when your turn is completely ruined by a reoccurring elite arcanist silence

How to Play

The goal of this deck is to establish control early on in the game using azorius charm, detention sphere, negate and if things get really hairy then silence. If the opponent is dropping alot of early creatures then turn 4 verdict should reset the board to keep the control train going.

After dragging the game out late game it will drop a Jace or Aetherling for the win condition and protect it. As a coup de gras once you have the mana to protect him you can deploy an elite arcanist with a variety of dirty dirty options to provide an insane amount of control or card advantage. However I would not do this until you have at least 6 mana so that you can negate the inevitable murder that's coming right for his face. If you get elite arcanist out with silence enabled you can pretty much ensure they will never cast a creature or sorcery spell again.

The Haunted plate mails are in there to deal with protection from blue / white cards. Also to fight off hexproofs such as Witchstalker. They also have the ability to survive supreme verdict. Since this deck is not focused on creatures they will be able to transform no problem most of the time.

The reason I am running opportunity instead of sphinx's revelation is mainly because I don't have 4 sphinx's but also because you can throw it onto the elite arcanist whereas you don't want to do that with sphinx's as the X will = 0 and you won't get anything.
