This looks fun and effective. Unfortunately way out of my price range :(

Elspeth, Knight-Errant seems like a better fit for this deck than Sun's Champion. Still can make a token to block/sacrifice to Liliana, and can make your Snap/Vaults into flying power 5 beats. Also, her emblem is way more pertinent to your deck.

Yeah I was thinking sun's champion when I saw Knight-Errant at first, but thinking about it I think Knight-Errant would be a good fit for this deck. Can have that 4/4 flying threat on her own, hits the board earlier, and can beef up baneslayer which is nice. And like you said can pump up the manlands which is pretty sick.

Your deck needs to run sphynx's revelation. Also want to consider trying to run maindeck timely reinforcements due to the large amount of aggro decks coming. I also do not like espeth in this deck. Knight errant, or jace beleren both would suit this deck better. Also not sure about the lone copy of sword. I would prefer fire and ice or a batterskull instead. I guess it depends on the meta.

As someone who hates the powercreep caused by/ of Baneslayer, I will simply point out your deck costs over a grand.

Modern is an expensive format. This isn't even the most expensive modern deck. Ones that run goyf are. Regardless there are also budget versions but if you want to be competitive you have to shell out money. Fetchlands only go up.

Maybe it's different where you play, but where I'm from I built a deck that costs $45 and came in second (close second place, I won game 1 then lost 2 & 3) in FNM against a guy who had play sets of dark confidant, goyf, and deathrite shaman, and play sets of shocks, verdant catacombs, etc. My point is that money will win more on average (that's why the money cards are as expensive as they are) but clever budget decks can get in there, sometimes even win.

Sure in FNM's you can get away with it. Unfortunately not every game store has that support. I know in my area not a single person plays modern you literally have to go to PTQ's. And if you look at most PTQ the top decks aren't cheap. That's not to say something like a burn deck wouldn't get far since sometimes it's under the radar.

@d3Necromaster

Yeah I built a cheap RDW that dominated MTG online verse decks which ran over 1000. Most expensive thing in there was Goblin Guide though.

Anyways pure RDW isnt competitive imo just because of the sideboard options against RDW. But in 1 match games it just pooped on a lot of expensive decks.

I really like your deck, I would agree with running timely reinforcements for this deck. With bitterblossom and wild nacatl being unbanned you will so a lot of aggro deck. I think that will be your best bet.

Looks very solid. If you got 1000 dollars to drop on a card game this is a good deck to look at.

I like it and run something very similar. I recommend a Bile Blight or 2, they are good against all the creature decks coming out of the woodwork.
