Thanks for the great input. I originally tried it with more discard cards and found that they were popping up more than the mana destroyers. Once I focused more on destroying land then they wound up discarding on their own at the end of turn. I do however like the burning inquiry addition and will try and sneak that into the deck.

why bloodstained mire if you have no swamp or mountains...? also look into poison the well for 2 damage and mana destroy and its either black or red casting cost. i run a black red mana destroy megrim deck which swings for some heavy instant damage. check it out: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=168850
Roiling terrain is my only suggestion, damage equal to the number of land cards in opponents graveyard as well as destroying a land. i run a mana destroy megrim deck that does some heavy instant damage... check it out: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=168850
Heres how i do mana destroying and burn... its pretty successful, but im looking into some more early creature control. the megrim aspect is crazy in combination with blightning (7 damage for 3 mana, with a guarantee that theyll have cards in hand) http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=168850
Look into using roiling terrain, deals damage equal to lands in opponents graveyard while also destroying a land. Ive got a mana destroying megrim deck that swings some heavy instant damage with blightning (7 damage altogether) check it out http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=168850
Nice combo with the recurring goblins. look into crucible of worlds to keep up your mana supply with all the sacrificing your doing. Check out my mana destroy/megrim deck. Blightning deals 7 damage for 3 mana and theres guaranteed to be cards to make them discard. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=168850
STRIP MINE!!!! I never even thought of looking into nonbasic lands to destroy lands. I also like your additions to bring lands back from your graveyard to your hand. Check out my red/black mana destroy/megrim deck. Blightning deals 7 damage for 3 mana, and roiling terrain hits hard late in the game. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=168850
Check out my take on a red/black mana destroy deck. Since they already have all those cards in their hand... why not make them discard them for damage with megrim and bllghtning (7 damage combo for 3 mana) http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=168850
A sure fire way to get megrim to work is to stack your opponents hand full of the cards they cant play because they have no land. Check out my mana destroy/discard deck: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=168850
I like the idea of turning your opponents stuff into artifacts. Makes it easier to wipe them off the board. I just put up a Land Destruction/Megrim deck that follows the same theme of not attacking (with one Blightning and Megrim its 7 damage for 3 mana) Check it out: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=168850
I like your discard theme. I've got a R/B deck also that utilizes Liliana's Caress with Blightning (the guaranteed 7 damage combo for 3 mana is awesome) Check it out: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=168850
I like your discard theme. I've got a R/B deck also that utilizes Liliana's Caress with Blightning (guaranteed 7 damage for 3 mana) Check it out: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=168850
Technically can't Serra Avatar not be in your graveyard at all? If you play Shallow Grave as an instant on top of the stack then there would be no creature in your graveyard at the time that the spell resolves. Then when Serra Avatar resolves it would be shuffled into your library immediately after it was placed in your graveyard. Shuffling it into your graveyard cannot be interrupted by an instant because its part of the resolve.
